HMD has launched the Nokia 2360 Flip, a new feature phone with a clamshell design and two displays. It is built around a feature called Family Assist, which lets a family member set up and manage the phone from their own smartphone. HMD is aiming the phone at school students and senior citizens.
With Family Assist, a relative can add contacts, change the volume, set reminders and reach other settings without touching the phone. The phone also has a dedicated SOS button on its rear panel. Pressing it calls a pre-set emergency contact and sends an alert. Notebookcheck also lists parental controls and emergency alerts among its features.
The launch comes days after HMD announced the HMD 2660 Flip Senior Edition, which uses the same Family Assist approach.
Notebookcheck warns that the phone has a significant connectivity limitation that could make it unusable in some markets. Check that the phone works with your carrier’s network before buying.
