AGM Glory G1S

“The AMG Glory G1S is not a cell phone for everyone because of its weight, the clunky camera module, and the rather high price for the offered performance. It is a special tool that can be extremely useful in some situations: for example, the thermal imaging camera works reliably without needing an accessory. And a night vision camera is hardly available in any other smartphone. The casing looks sturdy and is shock-, water- and dust-proof, making it well-suited for harsher environments. However, the manufacturer could have installed a brighter screen, since it is sometimes difficult to read the display outdoors. AGM should also make an effort with the software, especially with more up-to-date security patches.”

“An interesting design with a few very special features, the G1S fills a small but important specialist niche. Building with high-quality parts has made it expensive, and some design choices could have been better.”

“If you are looking for a device that can capture thermal imaging pictures and videos, be used to see and capture objects at night in infrared vision, and serve as a rugged Android smartphone, then the Glory G1S is the one to buy. The Amazon $599 price is very attractive for such a powerful mid-range phone. Now if only the company can be a little more proactive with Android security and firmware updates.”

“This phone is mostly for a specific use case. I would recommend it to construction workers who find it important to have a smartphone on hand, they can toss it around and rinse it under the tap and it will still keep working. However, as with Doogee, AGM only offers support for one year. At third party retailers, you can find the AGM Glory G1S for around $500, but at $699.99 MSRP it is a little on the expensive side.”
