Apple iPhone Duo

“Its hardware and software are cleverly designed. It mostly solves the visible-seam problem that most Android foldables come with. An updated version of the Duo with Face ID support would be just about the best possible version of this form factor, given the limits of battery technology and physics. But for me personally—and for many happy iPhone users—it requires too many compromises to enable features I don’t want badly enough.”

“The iPhone Duo is an extraordinary leap forward for Apple, even if its specialized design isn't for everyone. Foldables have always targeted productivity power users and media enthusiasts who thrive on multitasking and a large-screen canvas—areas where the Duo excels without compromise. It might be thicker and heavier than standard iPhones, but it repays that density with two phenomenal displays, class-leading battery life, top-tier performance, and a genuinely fresh iOS experience. While abandoning nine years of Face ID muscle memory for a finicky Touch ID button takes some getting used to, it hardly derails an otherwise top-tier experience. For iPhone fans eager to transform how they work and consume media, the iPhone Duo easily earns our Editors' Choice award.”

“Apple may have nailed the foldable form factor in one go, but I'm not going to pretend it's perfect. This is a compromised device by nature. You're giving up a "pro" iPhone with maximum performance, cameras, and durability for something with a wider range of utility.”

“If you get the opportunity to try an iPhone Duo, I'm confident you'll love it. The new foldable feels premium, clever, and is a joy to use.”
