Asus ROG Phone 6

“The ROG Phone 6 series presents itself as a successful and well-thought-out advancement of its predecessor. Asus has again succeeded in managing the top SoC from Qualcomm even without an active cooling system. With the attachable AeroActive cooler, there is an option that allows you to use the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 almost without any loss in performance. Again included are the AirTrigger ultrasound sensors. The display has not only become brighter, but now also offers a refresh rate of up to 165 Hz as well as a touch sampling rate of 720 Hz. In addition, the camera setup was improved with a new main sensor that is also used in other flagship smartphones.”

“Gaming phones are always powerful, but they're seldom polished. The ROG Phone 6 is both, matching best-in-class performance with effective cooling and a rich selection of accessories. While we wish Asus went a bit further with the camera and wireless charging, there are enough standout and unique highlights here to make it the best gaming phone available at launch.”

“The ROG Phone 6 is superb device, offering everything most people should look for in a gaming phone. Unless you value a secondary display or need an advanced cooling system, there’s no need to spend more.”

“With a DXOMARK Audio score of 155, the Asus ROG Phone 6 just misses out on the top spot in our ranking and earns itself an excellent second place. It also improves by four points over its already very good predecessor ROG Phone 5. Audio performance is impressive overall, especially in Playback. Some minor niggles, mainly in the Recording department, kept the Asus from making it to the very top.”
