Critic consensus
“Overall, the BlackBerry Style is an excellent choice for BlackBerry users looking for a phone with reliable hardware, excellent voice features and basic web computing capabilities. Running on 0S 6, it has similar speed to its touchscreen cousin, the Torch, but in the flip smartphone form factor. It’s the perfect hybrid for someone who wants all the features of a flip phone, which is said to be more conducive for talking, with the capabilities of a smartphone.”
“After some time with the device, Style really is a good name for the 9670. As is often the case with stylish, things they usually lack in substance, and the BlackBerry Style 9670 is no exception. For those more concerned with a cute, flip phone, the Style is a very good, functional option. For the heavy users the constant opening and closing will wear on them, and for the tech savvy BlackBerry OS 6 doesn’t do much to bridge the growing gap between BlackBerry and Android/iOS. Still, there is a definite market for those wanting a phone like this, and while RIM is losing out on the edge of technology, BlackBerry devices are still well put together, easy to use and in general hassle-free. The BlackBerry Style may be lacking in many areas, but for the less demanding smartphone user it is definitely worth a look.”
“Overall, the Blackberry Style is a fresh and different expansion of RIM’s already strong Blackberry line of devices. With a larger focus on the business sector, it is nice to see that RIM is still aware of the generic consumer market, and looking to expand to the average messaging and smartphone user. This device will gain popularity with the middle-aged population looking for a new phone that is durable and user friendly, and easy to type on. The only complaints I have with the Style 9670 are the pricing structure (phone is expensive unless you sign agreement for 3 years), and the lack of support for GSM (CDMA device).”
“The Style is a solid effort from RIM. It gets all the basics right. Battery life is epic, call quality is good, data speeds are acceptable, and the screens get the job done. BlackBerries still aren't the media monsters that Android and iOS devices are, but that's not what they focus on. Most users will find the tools available to be good enough. The newer media player works well, and the gallery app is really good. Too bad the camera is a bit of a pain to deal with. On the messaging front, the Style covers all the bases, and covers them well. With support for so many different messaging types, the options to configure communications is nearly endless and can be highly customized. What really sets the Style apart from other BlackBerries and other smartphones in general is its form factor. Clamshell-style smartphones are a rare breed these days. RIM did a great job developing most of the hardware features, and the phone has a quality feel to it.”

The first flaw would be if you can send fast messages/and if you will sent a lot of messages it is harder because you have to flip is open, but some people like the flip idea of the phone. Overall I think this is a very good phone and it is mostly so looks but also for younger kids.
The Style may have been a good phone but Telus (Tell Everyone Lies Useless Service) has chosen to cripple it as it has with all the Blackberry models they carry. Namely no picture messaging, no video messaging and no games! Check out Bell’s website they say theirs is fully functional.
If you're a text-savvy, BBMing, on-the-go kind of person who enjoys being able to reach in your pocket, pull out your phone, do your thing, and then shove it back into your pocket - this phone is a great choice for you. The clamshell design of the BlackBerry 9670 Style allows users to just clap i...
In Depth
RIM has clearly made a departure from its usual portrait QWERTY with the addition of the BlackBerry Style (9670). A smart, attractive flip, the Style impresses immediately with its quality build materials; just holding it transmits a sense that this phone was built with quality stuff.
On closer examination, the contoured Style offers a customizable external display on the outside, and a full QWERTY keypad on the inside. In fact, once you flip open the Style, you get an immediate sense of “being at home” if you are a long-time BlackBerry user, due in part to the sculpted keys, the familiar and proprietary “send”, “end” keys, along with the dedicated BlackBerry menu button.
The internal screen boasts a 360 x 480 pixel display resolution, with a series of tabbed options running along the bottom. It’s a BlackBerry for sure. Running BlackBerry OS 6.0 with 512MB of built-in RAM and offering expandable memory via miscroSD and microSDHC up to 32GB, this is not your average flip. Not even close.
And yes, BB fans, you get a 3.5mm headphone jack input, an excellent 5MP camera with LED flash and video record, Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi, even tethering capability.
Make no mistake; this little flip is a BlackBerry true and true. RIM appears to be expanding its inventory to include a sharp, powerful flip. And it’s called the Style.
