“The new BlackBerry Bold 9900 on T-Mobile will delight owners of older BlackBerries who have been waiting for an upgrade. But while the hardware is shiny and new, the Bold 9900's new OS is too similar to older versions to make a real difference. While the Bold 9900 finally gets a competitive WebKit browser and capacitive touch screen with BlackBerry OS 7, this cell phone is still no match for T-Mobile’s awesome range of high-end Android devices.”
“If I said the Bold 9900 is expensive it would be an understatement. I mean you can buy this if you are a Blackberry fanatic otherwise I see absolutely no rhyme or reason for anyone to switch to such an expensive Blackberry device.”
“The BlackBerry Bold 9900 is yet another good, solid workhorse of a BlackBerry phone that does most things fairly well, and excels at messaging, which is pretty much what the brand was built on. But as its rivals continue to innovate, RIM seems to be just about keeping pace, but not much more -- if you're already a BlackBerry fan you'll be glad you got one, but it's not likely to convince the non-believers.”
“Just by looking at the handset, it embodies all the qualities you want with a premium smartphone – like its razor sharp looks, solid construction, and premium materials. However, we’re not fans of the $299.99 on-contract price that T-Mobile is asking for since its hardware specs and platform experience pale in comparison to some of its rivals. Unless you can find it priced considerably less through one of the many online discount retailers out there, we’d suggest investing your hard-earned money on something that’s going to be of more value – say like the HTC Sensation 4G.”

I've been a constant blackberry cheerleader for years, I had a lot of issues with my old Curve so I was excited to upgrade to the Blackberry Bold 9900. I thought, a newer model = less issues, right? Wrong. I have this model as my work phone, and as of last weekend, my personal phone. My work phon...
I have owned 2 blackberries before I got this one and I must say this model was the biggest disappointment. Right away I had problems with this phone. Screen kept freezing, touchscreen would lag and media card reader won't work. I have been warned not to get this model and I regret not listening....
It needs a battery that doesn't have to be recharged every day, even wih limited use and few programs running. I got a new battery and followed bell's tips, still no luck. no wonder rim is having problems. Good that they didn,t get a hockey team. If they can solve the battery problem i would be ha...
In Depth
The Blackberry Bold 9900 is the newest touchscreen Blackberry and the thinnest model yet. The phone is constructed out of metal, making for a rugged and solid device ready for whatever might come its way. The 2.8 inch screen is larger than the previous generation of Blackberry and has a higher resolution as well, making for a more pleasant user experience. The QWERTY keyboard offers large and easy to use keys so there is no need to worry about your thumbs typing more than one key at a time.
The Bold 9900 has some impressive hardware under the hood as well. It features a 1.2Ghz processor and a healthy 768MB of memory making it the fastest Blackberry yet. You also get GPS, Wi-Fi, 8GB of extra storage for apps, and a 5 megapixel camera that can also record 720p video. The phone also ships with Blackberry 7, which promises a faster and more robust web browsing experience than Blackberry 6. The whole user interface has been given an overhaul and is easier to use overall with less clutter in the menus and a snappier response in general. However, if you are used to an Android phone or iPhone, the Blackberry 7 operating system may seem a bit behind on the times. It looks and feels dated compared to what the competition has to offer.

2. A fast processor and plenty of memory give the phone a welcome speed boost in just about every way possible, making it the best and most complete Blackberry on the market. (The Good)
