Google Pixel 5a

“Powerful performance, an immersive OLED display, a large battery, and an incredible camera stack make the Google Pixel 5a with 5G the best midrange phone you can buy.”

“The Google Pixel 5a could have been a more compelling smartphone had it arrived with an LTE chipset instead of the Snapdragon 765G. Thus, it could have been sold at $349 or maybe even $399 to directly compete with the iPhone SE. The Pixel 5a is essentially a repackaged Pixel 5 with a larger screen and significantly better battery life, but no wireless charging. It feels like Google could have released this device earlier in the year to stagger it further from the imminent launch of the Google Pixel 6 duo.”

“Google has absolutely nailed what should and should not go into a basic smartphone, and the result is a great phone at a great price. The Pixel 5a has a huge battery that will last all day. It's water-resistant so you don't have to worry about getting it wet. It still has one of the best smartphone (photo) cameras you can buy, and it's going to work now and three years into the future without any software garbage or delayed updates. It's a great phone... if you can buy it!”

“If you’re seeking a smaller and affordable handset with stock Android 12, rapid updates, 5G connectivity, and a camera that can punch way above its weight, the Pixel 5a might be for you. However, since the Pixel 6 arrived, the 5a is already looking past it.”
