Nokia 5.4

“The Nokia 5.4 scores some major points thanks to its beautiful design, decent hardware and a solid IPS screen. The main distinguishing feature of the smartphone from HMD Global is Android One. This is what sets it apart from the rest of the competition in the mid-range space. Whether this is enough in 2021 is an open question since our opinion is that the Nokia 5.4 does not provide as much value as other competing devices that cost 220 Euros ($262)—the Poco X3 NFC and the Redmi Note 9 bring more to the table hardware-wise but do not provide such comprehensive software support.”

“The Nokia 5.4 performs well and comes with promises of multiple OS upgrades, but it doesn’t begin to live up to its price tag.”

“The Nokia 5.4 looks great on the surface, but compared to its predecessor and much of the budget competition, it's a hard sell.”

“The Nokia 5.4 provides an all-round competent budget phone experience, and we’ll always appreciate Nokia’s pure approach to Android. But that no longer feels like enough in today’s competitive budget market, where one or two stand-out features aren’t uncommon. This is a phone that completely underwhelms with its drab screen and sluggish performance, while an improved camera can still only manage acceptable wide shots in good lighting. It isn’t a bad phone by any means, but the Nokia 5.4 simply fails to shine with any of the basics.”
