“If you are looking for a very solid feature phone for just calls and FM (there is a crowd for that, believe us), we would say this is perhaps one of the best options out there. It is great for calls and simple texting, delivers a loud sound and that battery goes on and on. But if Web browsing or actually any serious Internet-related work comes into the picture, then the 5310 fades out – that display and the absence of Wi-Fi really limit this phone.”

It has good battery life and supports dual-SIMs. Additionally, the Nokia 5310 makes sense for you if music is central to your day-to-day life – not because the device offers exceptional performance in terms of audio quality, but for music being central to its design and UI. Music-lovers were kept in mind while designing the phone.”

But, areas like the camera further narrow down the already small niche-market that the Nokia 5310 is aiming at. If you seek a feature-phone mainly for portable music, the Nokia 5310 is a great device. However, you could look for other options for a more balanced feature-phone.”

“HMD Global is clearly not targeting this phone at entry-level buyers – it's playing on the Nokia legacy and using the dual speakers as a value proposition. That isn't quite good enough for us – for one, the original Nokia 5310 was nowhere near as iconic as the Nokia 3310. Would anyone buy this as a secondary phone, or consciously want to avoid smartphones but still like something to use mainly for music? We think that's a very, very small niche.”
