“First things first, we have to admit Nokia N78 really has some serious performance to back up that specs sheet. The new and improved interface is real snappy and there are a few nice surprises in store. The time-tested smartphone and multimedia strengths are topped with a capable camera, great GPS receiver and even a FM transmitter. Our dilemma here is whether to throw another if only at you. All right, we'll just say that can't have it all is but a lame excuse. And no, it's not a matter of personal taste - some things boil down to numbers. Right now Nokia N78 retails at about 30 euro more than what you'd pay for a Nokia N82. If you are not among those mesmerized by the looks of N78, you might end up trading the FM transmitter and better GPS for a 5 megapixel camera with xenon flash and saving a few bucks. Still with prices possibly leveling out, some time from now Nokia N78 might just turn out a better deal than it currently is.”
“The Nokia N78 features a 3.2-megapixel camera and integrated GPS for navigation and geotagging capabilities. The smartphone also offers U.S. 3G support, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. THE BAD: The N78 didnt have the best call quality, nor did it produce great pictures. Its also expensive. As with all Nokia N series smartphones, the Nokia N78 impresses with its high-end features, especially the new geotagging tool, but we were slightly disappointed by the spotty call quality.”
“At first glance Nokia N78 might not be to the liking of people who are looking for more functionality, as the device features a nightmarish keypad. If you can get past this you'll surely enjoy the other features that this handset includes. The GoodThe strong points of the smartphone are surely the HSDPA connectivity and excellent screen that offers a smooth multimedia experience. I will also mention here the 3.2 Megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, good GSM signal reception, FM transmitter, 3.5mm standard audio jack, as well as the 2GB microSD memory card in the retail package. The BadThe hard-to-use keypad and slow operating system don’t go too well with the Nseries logo. The resemblance with the N81 device hasn't done any good to N78, on the contrary. Perhaps a much better solution for those looking for a cheap Nseries device remains the N82 candybar smartphone.”
“The Nokia N78 is positioned as the one of the lower priced Nseries devices. It has connectivity options galore with WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and 3G (UMTS, HSDPA). The 3.2 megapixel camera is solid, though not necessarly spectactular, and the GPS integration gives it value that can be explored in various capacities. The FM Transmitter, Multimedia menu, and sleek design give the N78 a bit of a hidden personality. It can be powerful and understated at the same time. But the user interface issues keep it from being the solid buy that it should be for those looking for a solid mid-range smartphone.Yet, it still offers a heck of a bang for the buck. The N78 represents what most of the world will see from Nokia as newer models are released. GPS plays a major part here, and Feature Pack 2 is primed with untapped ability that its over-the-air (OTA) updatability may unlock. The N78 is a really solid device. Those who take the plunge with the N78 will not likely be disappointed. I give it a Recommended rating.”
