Critic consensus
“There is no denying that it is simply different than most phones and not your run-of-the-mill affordable device. Beyond style points, however, the phone also seems to nail most of the basics for a good everyday experience. If you can live with the shortcomings we mentioned, then the CMF Phone 2 Pro deserves consideration.”
“An affordable phone sequel with plenty of personality. The CMF Phone 2 Pro makes progress in all the right areas, while keeping the price in check. It’s a fantastic choice if you’re on a modest budget”
“The CMF Phone 2 Pro once again highlights Nothing's ability to deliver outstanding budget phones. The phone has a fully sealed back this time, and as such, the back cover isn't detachable, that said, there's a new universal case that allows the use of accessories, and it is a good workaround. There are plenty of upgrades, you get a trio of cameras at the back, a flexible AMOLED with ultra-thin bezels, great battery life, and clean software with a unique design and customizability. If you need a budget phone in 2025, there really isn't anything else that gives you as good a value.”
“The CMF Phone 2 Pro paints itself as an ultra-affordable phone with pro features, like a triple camera system and a few AI features, but it doesn't offer a significant performance leap. At the very least, it offers the kind of value that makes it a strong contender for budget-conscious shoppers.”

In Depth
Design
The CMF Phone 2 Pro sports a unique design with visible screws and modular features. You can customize its look by attaching an add-on back panel with a magnetic snap-on feature, resembling modern aesthetics while offering flexibility.
Experts rave about its personality and tactile design. “CMF doubles down on personality, usability, and thoughtful design,” claims a reviewer from Android Central. The phone retains some modular charm with the ability to attach lenses or a wallet accessory, adding practicality and fun to its design.
Weighing only 185 grams and measuring 7.8 millimeters thick, it feels lightweight and comfortable for one-handed use, perfect for those on-the-go moments. Despite the plastic back, its premium feel is unexpected at its price, rounding off a design that’s as enjoyable as it is practical.
Display(s)
The display of the CMF Phone 2 Pro is as rich as they come in the budget segment. It stretches 6.77 inches, offering a generous canvas for all your media needs. The flexible AMOLED screen provides deep contrasts and bright colors that make images pop.
You’ll appreciate the 120Hz refresh rate smoothing out navigation and scrolling, making everything feel more responsive. Even under the sun, this display holds its clarity with a peak brightness of 3,000 nits.
According to Android Central, the panel also supports HDR10+, ensuring high dynamic range for superior viewing, especially for video content.
Performance
With the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro chipset, the CMF Phone 2 Pro provides smooth performance that handles daily tasks with ease. Users experience minimal stutter, which is rare for smartphones in this price range.
According to experts, “the phone’s handling of apps and games is smooth,” which many find surprising given its budget-friendly nature. The 8GB RAM ensures you can run various apps without noticeable slowdowns, enhancing the overall usability of this device.
Software & Storage
The CMF Phone 2 Pro upgrades your experience with its user-friendly design. The Android interface allows seamless transitions and customization, giving you control over how your phone looks and acts.
One standout feature is the Essential Space, where you can store and organize screenshots, voice memos, and notes. According to WIRED, the AI organizes information into to-do lists and suggestions, enhancing your productivity.
With three years of Android updates and six years of security updates, you’ll stay ahead in terms of software support, letting you enjoy your device for longer.
Cameras
The CMF Phone 2 Pro surprises with its triple-camera setup, showcasing a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultrawide shooter. This array offers remarkable photos with vibrant colors and commendable detail.
You’ll notice that the telephoto lens holds up well in good lighting, maintaining detail and consistency across shots. The ultrawide lens, while lacking the vibrancy of the main lens, adds useful framing options for landscape photography.
In low-light conditions, the main sensor performs well, but you’ll need a steady hand due to the absence of optical stabilization. Overall, reviewers consistently highlight the “great camera for the price,” making the CMF Phone 2 Pro a standout in the budget category.
Battery
The CMF Phone 2 Pro offers impressive battery performance, featuring a 5,000mAh battery that easily powers through an entire day even with heavy use. On days with lighter usage, you can stretch this to nearly two days, providing peace of mind for prolonged daily activities without having to scramble for a charger.
Charging the phone is quick and convenient, thanks to its 33W fast wired charging capability. This means you’ll spend less time waiting and more time engaging with your phone. “Battery life is excellent, easily lasting a full day,” praise experts, highlighting its reliability outside the tech specs.
Audio
Experts noted that listening to music on the CMF Phone 2 Pro could feel harsh and unimpressive, impacting the audio quality when watching videos or playing games.
The Phone 2 Pro doesn’t feature stereo speakers, a drawback common in budget phones, but one that limits sound immersion, especially for videos and gaming.
If you prioritize audio quality for entertainment, you might find the single speaker setup lacking in depth and clarity.
For best results, consider using headphones for a fuller audio experience.
The Bottom Line
With its engaging design and essential features, this phone provides excellent value for the cost-conscious. The phone’s vibrant interface and efficient performance are complemented by a reliable battery life, making it suitable for regular use.
While the telephoto and ultrawide features add versatility to the camera setup, performance remains mixed under low light conditions. This might be a downside for some users.
Overall, its blend of style, substance, and longevity positions it as a dependable choice for those seeking a balance between functionality and fun.
