Xiaomi 12S Ultra

“The Xiaomi 12S Ultra has put us in a weird spot. On the one hand, it's easily one of the best cameraphones, and a lot of our excitement does stem from that main unit that you can't get elsewhere. It's a competent smartphone outside of imaging, too, thanks to a wonderful display, class-leading chipset performance, some of the best speakers in a non-gaming flagship, and good battery life as top-tier handsets go. It doesn't hurt that all of this is packaged in a bold-looking yet stylish body.”

“Xiaomi's 12S Ultra is a high-quality and very well-equipped smartphone, which will hopefully soon make its way to Europe. Why only China is able to enjoy the benefits of the true 2022 flagship is incomprehensible.”

“The 12S Ultra comes with meaningful upgrades over its predecessor, including a bold design at the back and a leather finish. The 120Hz AMOLED screen is among the best on Android, the phone is ideally suited for gaming, and the gigantic 1-inch camera at the back takes outstanding photos. Xiaomi's camera efforts have picked up an additional boost thanks to the Leica partnership, and overall, the 12S Ultra offers one of the strongest packages today. That said, the phone is limited to China, and you don't get the Play Store out of the box.”

“The Xiaomi 12S Ultra is a powerful phone in every respect, none more so than the beefy main camera. It’s big, but pays that off with beautiful bokeh and excellent low light photography. This is a Chinese exclusive though, so you’ll to put up with import fees and software quirks.”
