Xiaomi 15 Ultra

Design

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra stands out with its camera-first design that resembles classic cameras. It boasts a large camera module on its back, integrating a retro style that echoes its collaboration with Leica. Users appreciate its strong build quality, with a blend of aluminum frames and Xiaomi Shield Glass, making it highly resistant to drops and daily wear.

The phone offers a balance between elegance and robustness without feeling top-heavy. Despite its large camera module, “the phone doesn’t feel unwieldy in the hand,” as noted by reviewers from Android Central. The design promotes ease of use and comfort, even during prolonged handheld sessions.

Display(s)

You’ll love how bright the screen gets, reaching up to 3,200 nits. This makes it one of the brightest displays available, ideal for outdoor use or bright conditions.

The 6.73-inch AMOLED screen is vivid and clear, with rich colors that make everything from videos to photos look stunning. You can easily adjust color settings to suit your personal preferences.

The phone features sleek curves on the edges, providing a smooth touch experience, but be wary of accidental touches at the screen’s edge due to its design.

Performance

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra boasts a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, enhancing its ability to handle demanding tasks effortlessly. You’ll find it provides a smooth gaming and multitasking experience, ensuring apps run without delays.

Though it’s fast and powerful, there can be some heat during extended use, particularly in graphically intense situations. Reviewers feel the performance holds well compared to its competitors, such as the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra.

This phone’s prowess is highlighted by its leading-edge hardware and efficient software optimization, promising you a seamless user experience.

Software & Storage

Running on HyperOS 2.0, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is tailored with thoughtful AI integrations that enhance day-to-day activities. The AI can help you with tasks like writing, editing photos, and understanding foreign languages, making your phone more than just a communication device.

Yet, reviewers have noted that the interface can feel heavy with pre-installed apps, although these can be uninstalled. As TechRadar highlighted, the software still “lacks polish” compared to some competitors, and the update promise falls short with only four guaranteed UI updates.

Despite these snags, the overall software combines ease of use with cutting-edge functions, offering you a dynamic and engaging experience.

Cameras

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s camera offers an exceptional photography experience with a stunning 1-inch sensor that excels in all lighting conditions. Benefit from the dual Leica profiles, Authentic and Vibrant, for a tailored color experience with each shot.

For zoom enthusiasts, the 200MP telephoto lens provides remarkable detail and clarity, allowing you to capture distant subjects effortlessly. Reviewers appreciate its quality, noting, “Xiaomi’s ultra camera setup isn’t completely flawless,” but “nail[s] dynamic range, noise, and white balance” – an impressive feat compared to other models.

This setup makes the device stand out, especially in low light, delivering shots packed with detail, sharpness, and contrast, even in less-than-ideal conditions.

Battery

The phone boasts a 5,410mAh battery, which reviewers acknowledge delivers excellent battery life, ensuring you stay connected throughout your routine without worrying about frequent recharges. Even with intensive use, it remains steadfast, powering through busy schedules with ease.

Charging is fast and efficient, alleviating common frustrations with power-hungry devices. The 90W wired charging speed ensures your device gets back to full power swiftly. In addition, the 80W wireless charging offers convenient, cord-free replenishments.

This combination of battery size and charging capabilities sets a high standard in ensuring that the average user can enjoy extended usage without continual power concerns. Whether at home or on the road, you can trust the device to meet your demands with durability and speed.

Audio

When watching movies or playing games, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s dual speakers deliver a loud and immersive audio experience. However, some experts note that the speakers don’t produce much bass and can sound tinny at high volumes. Despite this, the speakers can achieve a relatively loud volume.

For calls, the audio quality remains clear, and the speakerphone mode works impressively at close range. But, beyond a certain distance, the voice quality might sound slightly harsh. Reviewers commend the phone’s ability to maintain clarity in typical usage scenarios.

The Bottom Line

The device stands out for its impressive cameras, highlighted by a large sensor and a notable 200MP telephoto lens. Many reviews praise its photography prowess, stating it “captures stunningly detailed images” in various conditions, though some note an inconsistency with HDR performance. The phone includes a vibrant display and robust processing power. While its price reflects its premium features, its size and weight might not appeal to those seeking a compact phone. Its software offers useful features, but critics mention limited updates compared to rivals. The overall experience benefits tech enthusiasts, particularly those who prioritize photography.
