Archos GamePad 2

“The GamePad 2 is a well built, ergonomic, attractive portable gaming tablet that looks and feels like it should be playing in the big league. The depth of colours, crisp screen and broad array of Android games mean you will be entertained. But at its high price point and with few Android games really challenging the likes of blockbusters on other, more established, consoles, the Archos GamePad 2 isn't value for money. You're better off spending (and saving) your money on a PS Vita.”

“It's almost as if the Archos GamePad 2 is fighting against itself in terms of its branding, as if we were looking at this tablet as a purely budget tablet, it's be hard not to be impressed with the good IPS screen, storage options, HDMI out, and quad-core processor with 2GB RAM. However, trying to promote itself as a great gaming device isn't accurate apart from its inclusion of physical buttons.”

“The Archos GamePad 2 may not qualify as an irreproachable tablet in the classic sense (it's still a bit light in the battery department), but as a tablet-console it's excellent. The fruit of serious efforts with the software and hardware, it's worth checking out for any gamers who want an affordable portable multimedia device.”

“Better gaming controls and a much improved battery, but the Archos Gamepad 2 still can't replace a dedicated handheld console.”
