Critic consensus
“While we have a few gripes, in general there’s a lot to like about the Lenovo IdeaTab S2110. The build quality is solid, the performance is good even with its less-than-top of the line hardware specs, and it’s light and easy to use. The main problem with the Lenovo IdeaTab S2110 is the price. At $429 for the 16 GB version of the tablet alone, and $579 for the 32 GB tablet and dock, it’s simply too expensive to be able to maintain pacing with the competition.”
“Lenovo's $499 IdeaTab S2110A is a snappy 10-inch tablet with great battery life and capable rear-facing camera. The included keyboard dock adds a further dimension of functionality. However, we don't like the flex in the tablet and the keyboard dock, nor the fact that the tablet lacks an SD card slot. For $50 more, you can pick up the ASUS Transformer Pad TF300 and its keyboard dock, both of which felt a little sturdier. Still, if you're looking for an Android tablet with excellent endurance, the Lenovo IdeaPad S2110A is a good choice.”
“The IdeaTab S2110 is the kind of tablet that looks good on paper, but doesn’t quite deliver once you get it into your hands. The main issue is the build quality of the hardware. We’re not completely against plastic construction, but the fact that the tablet literally bends and makes a noise if you squeeze it a bit is a problem. The slightly sluggish performance is also an issue, albeit one that could be fixed by software updates. If this were a more basic tablet with a cheaper price tag, these things might not be as big a deal. However, $400 is a lot to pay for a device with these flaws. Especially when there are other tablets, like the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 or the iPad 2, that cost the same yet don’t have these problems.”
“It's funny to me that Lenovo sells the A2109 as a budget tablet and not the S2110. Sure, your $100 gets you a bigger (and much better) screen with the S2110, but it has the most appalling performance I can imagine. A cheap Chinese knock-off tablet offers better performance, without a doubt. It boggles my mind. What makes it even worse is that they market the 2110 as a sort of work horse, and you can purchase a keyboard dock. With performance this bad, I don't even want to use it at all, let alone to get a little extra work done on the weekends or when I'm out of the office. Even if using the tablet wasn't so miserable, it's still so flimsy that I'd be afraid to throw it in a bag and take it out of the house.”

In Depth
The Lenovo IdeaTab S2110 is Lenovo’s answer to the transforming Android tablets first introduced to the world by Asus. It comes as a successor of sorts to the IdeaTab S2109 and features support for an optional keyboard dock that gives it extra points in terms of functionality and up to 10 hours of extra battery life. Why is it worth springing for this tablet from Lenovo and use a so-called Gobot instead of an Asus Transformer? Well, it mostly boils down to one thing… which is price.
The IdeaTab S2110 improves on its predecessor by packing a 10.1-inch 1280×800 pixel resolution touchscreen LCD in a body that measures a mere 9mm thin. There’s a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapgradon APQ8060A processor under the hood and 1GB of RAM to help make sure that navigating menus and using apps feels snappy. Its other features include 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and built-in GPS with A-GPS. It also boasts a 1-megapixel front-facing camera as well as a 5-megapixel main snapper located at the back.
The included battery on the tablet offers up to 10 hours of Wi-Fi web surfing and 10 hours of video playback. Either way, you’re sure to make it through at least a full day of usage before you need to recharge. And once you connect it to the optional keyboard dock, you’ll get an extra day’s worth of charge with an SD card and touchpad, to boot.
Lenovo manages to truly set the S2110 apart from similar offerings in the market by discounting its retail price of $449 to as low as $343 online. That’s one heck of a deal for a feature-rich tablet running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
