Onyx Boox Note Air 5 C

“Paired with a good keyboard, I think this would be a fantastic writing companion. I could see someone taking it to a coffee shop or a secluded writing desk in their house and tapping out a first draft of a book on it. I also think that this would be a must-have tool for college students who like handwritten notes but want them widely accessible. I don't think Boox is trying to replace laptops or iPads with their devices. These are e-readers first and foremost, which makes them feel like supplementary tech, not alternatives. If you've got the money to drop on an e-reader, Boox makes fantastic ones.”

“While it's a versatile e-notetaker, it can't be your color e-reader of choice.”

“The Boox Note Air5 C might run Android but it isn’t really a tablet replacement, it’s a note-taking Kindle Scribe rival with bonus features and, viewed in that light, it’s a fantastic thing. It makes a great e-reader, thanks to its ability to install any Android app, including Kindle. But it also makes an impressively powerful note-taking and annotating device, thanks to its responsive pen and colour e-ink technology, not to mention its brilliant Notes app.”

“This unit, in every sense of the word, is good. There’s nothing wrong with it whatsoever. It’s capable, fast, well-built, does what it’s advertised to do, and comes from one of the most reputable brands in the industry. The problem is that it’s new, and there’s no reason for it to be. It brings literally nothing to the table that other devices haven’t brought before. It doesn’t even feature 8 + 256, which is the latest possible RAM + ROM. This offering is so unnecessarily dry that it’s a wonder they even called it the 5c. The body, UI, execution, and screen are the same. Nothing groundbreaking. The differences are: it has volume buttons, Android 15, and a new pen. In fact, the pen is the only interesting factor about this device. The pen is essentially a homage to the remarkable markers.”
