“This year you might get the impression that the time has stood still: There are no real innovations from the new tablet or smartphone generations. Even the performance is often similar. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 is no exception and is very similar to the predecessor, apart from the missing NFC and MHL. In return you now get LTE Cat.4, which should be biggest selling point. The Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 obviously makes a lot of thing right: There's sufficient performance for everyday tasks and smooth gameplay. The battery runtimes are slightly better, the build quality of the case is solid and it has a simple elegance, at least if you can live with the plastic. The good signal quality and the bright panel are other advantages of the tablet.Drawbacks are the low resolution and the strange color settings of the display, Samsung usually delivers better results. The poor cameras, the mediocre speakers and the somewhat strange keyboard layout without umlauts don't leave the best impression, either. In the end you get a solid tablet with a phone feature, which does not really introduce any innovations or selling points over the predecessor. If you already have a Galaxy Tab 3 you can easily skip this generation. If you have to choose between the two generations, you should have a closer look, especially considering the reduced price of the Tab 3 10.1. If you want Full HD and a great price-performance ratio, you might want to look at other devices.”

“Like its 7- and 8-inch siblings, the Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 exudes mediocrity. The competition isn't quite as fierce in the 10-inch space, and most every other manufacturer is defaulting towards the low-end for their large screen tablets. As such, the Tab 4 compares favorably with tablets like the Asus Transformer Pad TF103C and Lenovo A10. The Tab 4 easily eclipses the A10, but at $299 with an included keyboard dock, the Transformer Pad is more useful and a better value. If you have a more flexible budget, though, we still prefer the iPad Air and the Galaxy Tab S 10.1, both of which are simply in another league.”

“The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 is the biggest out of the Tab 4 bunch and if 7 or 8 inch tablets are just too small for you then Samsung’s got you covered with the 10.1. The hardware is not unlike any Samsung product we’ve seen before. The display is bigger but the resolution is unchanged at 1280×800. While it isn’t the sharpest or pixel dense display in existence it’s perfectly usable. Pixels are noticeable if you look close enough but it’s an otherwise great looking display with bright and vivid colors like most Samsung panels typically are which makes it very enjoyable for consuming media. It’s a midrange tablet so the specs aren’t going to blow you away with it’s 1.2 GHz quad-core processor 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. The general performance through day to day usage however, is very respectable with few hiccups. It’s a decent tablet with a decent display, good build quality, dual speakers, and solid battery life. It doesn’t have the latest and the greatest specs out there but it wasn’t meant to and whether this tablet is worth it or not will purely be up to you to decide.”

“The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 offers acceptable performance and long battery life, but its relatively low price for a full-size tablet is its biggest advantage. This 10.1-inch model is intended for those who want the biggest possible display but don’t want to pay for a high-end product.Although it has a low display resolution and barely acceptable cameras, this tablet will provide a pleasant and reliable experience in everyday usage for less-demanding users. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 is a solid choice for general family usage, internet browsing, watching a few movies, and replying to emails.”
