Who they are
Simple Mobile is a Verizon-owned prepaid brand, now part of Verizon’s prepaid portfolio after Verizon acquired its former parent, TracFone. It runs as prepaid with no contract and no credit check, sold online and through an unusually broad network of authorized dealers, convenience stores, and big-box retailers, which makes it easy to find and to refill with cash.
Network & coverage
Simple Mobile now runs on Verizon’s nationwide network, having migrated from T-Mobile after Verizon acquired TracFone; new activations and SIM kits are Verizon-based. Plans include Verizon’s nationwide 5G and 4G LTE, with the top tier adding Verizon’s high-band Ultra Wideband 5G. One catch worth knowing: Simple Mobile traffic is deprioritized behind Verizon postpaid during congestion, so speeds can slow at peak times.
How pricing works
Simple Mobile is prepaid with no contract and no early-termination fee, on 30-day service cycles. The lineup runs from several capped-data tiers up through unlimited tiers, with multi-line discounts available. Unlike many prepaid brands, taxes and fees are not included: they are added on top of the advertised price at purchase. An autopay option, branded Auto-ReUp, shaves a little off each tier. There is no price-lock guarantee.
Who it’s for
Simple Mobile suits people who want Verizon coverage with international calling included and easy cash refills at corner stores, particularly anyone who values walk-in, no-credit-check access. It is less suited to cost-focused shoppers comparing all-in prices, since taxes and fees are added on top rather than baked in. The alternatives below are worth a look if taxes-included pricing is your priority.
