About Sprint

What You Need to Know

On April 1, 2020, Sprint Wireless has merged with T-Mobile. Shortly after, T-Mobile moved quickly to rebrand existing Sprint stores as T-Mobile locations.

On August 2, 2020, T-Mobile officially stopped signing up new subscribers under the Sprint name after the sale of Boost Mobile became official. Currently, the consumer Sprint website redirects to T-Mobile and existing customers will be moved to comparable T-Mobile plans over time. The business class Sprint page has an FAQ about what to expect moving forward.

Near its peak, Sprint served more than 59 million subscribers and was the smallest of the four major U.S. mobile carriers. Featuring robust LTE coverage and their famous unlimited data packages, the carrier served both urban and rural areas.

“Sprint’s historic advantage has been not coverage but generosity. It kept offering unlimited data even as AT&T and Verizon stopped selling it and started trying to claw back old plans, and it still charges such a small premium for unlimited that it might as well be the default option.”

“Sprint continues to work hard to improve its status among the major carriers, and we saw some evidence of that, both in terms of its second-place finish in our customer-service tests and its aggressively priced unlimited data plan for individuals and families. But Sprint's network continues to be its undoing: It even finished behind discount carrier MetroPCS in our speed tests, making it hard to recommend Sprint when better options are available.”

“Sprint Wireless offers the most interesting and good value plans of the big cell providers, but its network coverage isn't as extensive as its rivals. You get plenty of extras with a Sprint plan - including Hulu - but areas like customer service and call quality aren't as good.”

“If you want a cheap cell carrier with decent service—and you live in a metro or suburban area—then Sprint is a pretty good choice. But if you live in a rural area, or somewhere else Sprint just has poor coverage, then Sprint’s affordability might not be worth the frustration of spotty service.”

WhistleOut
WhistleOut 9.2

“Sprint is the clear winner for unlimited data pricing among the Big 4 carriers. However, like all major carriers (excluding T-Mobile) Sprint adds on the taxes and other charges. This can be 17% of your monthly bill and anyone signing up with Sprint should be aware that pricing varies.”

Was with a local company, Ntelos, for 14 years with no complaints...and then Sprint bought them. It's been nothing but problems. Data overage charges are triple what they were with Ntelos. So I switched to a different data plan of theirs, which I hate. Added a line - big mistake. Was promised no ...

Which phone did you have cleared? If it's an Android phone, did you check if the files are synced with Google photos? I can't suggest any file recovery app as I haven't tried any, sorry.

Hi Tor. From what I understand, you will only be charged with the subscription cost. Data wise, you wouldn't be since you are on an unlimited data plan.

Hi Orlando. I think this is a problem on the number you are calling. You can try calling the same number using a different phone to confirm this.

Odd. According to the map, you should have excellent signal. When you're out, how's the connection going? I'm thinking the walls/roof of your house is blocking it.

Hi dave. Did you check Sprint's coverage map? Maybe you are unluckily on their weak areas. Ever considered changing carriers? Anyways, I suggest that you contact Sprint and try to request for a signal booster.
