(AI)
Apple is tightening its App Store rules for dating apps and AI companion apps. Under the change, these apps will be limited to people 18 and older. That includes apps that let users have romantic chats with an AI virtual companion.
The Mac Observer says the rule is meant to protect younger users from adult content. CNET describes it as an age gate, a check that keeps under-18 users from getting these apps.
CNET also reports a second change in the same update. Apps that share a user’s location will have to disclose that they do so.
