Summary
(AI)
The news surfaced when Creative Strategies analyst Max Weinbach posted that Pencil support worked in the iOS 27.2 Release Candidate. MacRumors and AppleInsider both cite his post. The coverage points to his testing rather than a new Apple statement.
Apple had already said Pencil support would come to its first foldable iPhone before the end of 2026. Outlets describe the timing as sooner than expected. Gizmochina notes that Apple showed the phone last month and gave only a loose “later this year” timeline.
The public release of iOS 27.2 is described as expected next week. No outlet gives an exact date.
