Key points
- Apple has published estimated repair prices for the iPhone Duo for customers without AppleCare+.
- Replacing the inner display costs an estimated $999 without AppleCare+.
- "Other damage" repairs can reach $1,499, which is 75% of the phone's starting price.
- A replacement battery costs $229 without AppleCare+.
- A new cover layer costs $49 without AppleCare+ and $19 with it.
Summary
(AI)
The prices come from Apple’s own published list of repair fees, so they are confirmed by the company. They are described as estimates, not final quotes.
The coverage focuses on the gap between small fixes and big ones. The cover layer is cheap, while the inner display and “other damage” repairs cost far more. The coverage gives no repair prices for customers who do have AppleCare+, apart from the cover layer.
One outlet’s buyer’s guide still lists the iPhone Duo as coming soon, so the phone itself may not yet be on sale.
