Samsung releases stable One UI 9 update for Galaxy S23 series
Key points
- Samsung has released the stable One UI 9 update, based on Android 17, for the Galaxy S23, S23+ and S23 Ultra.
- GSMArena reports the update also covers the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5.
- Beta program users get build version GZIF as a download of less than 500MB.
- Users not in the beta program will get a larger package of around 3GB.
- The rollout began in South Korea and has since started in other regions, with Europe appearing to be first.
The update started in South Korea on October 14, aimed first at phones already enrolled in the beta program. The stable release ends the beta for these phones. The rollout then widened on October 19 and 20, when coverage reported it reaching regions outside South Korea.
Europe appears to be the first region outside South Korea to get it. SamMobile says Samsung seems to be sending the update to beta users first. Wider availability for everyone else has not been confirmed by coverage, though GSMArena says it should expand to non-beta users. The coverage does not give dates for specific countries or carriers.
