Samsung has officially unveiled its newest mid-range smartphone, the Galaxy A27 5G, bringing a blend of design refinements and performance upgrades to its budget-friendly lineup. Succeeding the Galaxy A26, the new model ditches Samsung’s in-house Exynos chip in favor of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, promising faster, more responsive performance. The device also introduces a modernized 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-O display with a 120Hz refresh rate, swapping the older teardrop notch for a cleaner punch-hole camera and slimmer bezels.
Running on Android 16 with One UI 8.5 out of the box, the Galaxy A27 stands out by offering flagship-tier software longevity. Samsung has committed to providing six generations of major Android OS upgrades and six years of security patches. It also packs a suite of new AI capabilities, including Circle to Search, Object Eraser, and built-in support for multiple assistants like Google Gemini and Perplexity.
While the phone retains its predecessor’s 5,000mAh battery and 50MP primary camera, the hardware changes include a few compromises to keep costs down. The ultra-wide lens has been downgraded to 5MP, and the dust and water resistance rating has dropped from IP67 to IP64. The Galaxy A27 5G will be available globally starting in early July, with prices beginning at $350.
