Take a toothbrush, qtip, or toothpick and rubbing alcohol. Clean the top metal silver piece get the dirt out of all the holes. There is also a speaker on the bottom of the phone as well. Do not use water. Alcohol pads and toothpick or even a metal bread tie work. 

If you scroll down at the top of your phone, next to where it has the brightness there is an auto button, hit that and it makes it louder bit it will eventually go low again then hit the auto button again. It works but its annoying

Hi Sean. I'm pretty sure you accidentally just press the volume buttons. If you want to increase ring and other notifications volume, just press volume up while on the home screen.

Tried searching if anyone has successfully root Alcatel Fierce 4, unfortunately no one has yet.

Hi Marcus. You might want to try apps like Volume Booster Pro (link).

To increase ring volume, while in home screen, press volume up button.

Same goes for while playing videos and music, simply press volume up button.

If you are using a phone case, it may be blocking the mic or you have accidentally muted the mic. You might also want to check the mic if there's anything stuck in it.
