To your question...unfortunately only a few devices from BlackBerry are supported. The Priv and the DTEK50 for example. Both of those run Android, not BlackBerry's own operating systems.

After June 30th 2017 WhatsApp announced that their Messenger will no longer support any BlackBerries running a BlackBerry OS.

We don't have first-hand experiencing using that combination. But from what we could find, the phone supports the same network bands used by MetroPCS.

We also found this forum post that mentions a user having no problems activating the Passport with Metro PCS.
