Hi James. Coolpad Defiant and Coolpad Rogue use different batteries. Please only use the official battery for your phone to avoid any problem.

If you're doing any update, please unroot your phone first. I've read other users using different phones had problem updating their phones while it is rooted.

Yeah, you will need to root your phone. But if you don't want to, you might want to try custom home launcher apps, some have custom fonts.

Root your phone. using kingoroot i would suggest. or oneclick root

Hi ryan. When choosing a ringtone, do you see a + sign? You might want to try Ringdroid (link) really easy to use to setup ringtone.

hey Carl:

Thanx for the response. OK, what I've done is to try other browsers and the result is, some do 'crash" often, others not so much, and Google Chrome(the original browser) seems to run just fine. So, my conclusion is: these phones are "locked into" Chrome and other browsers will be erratic if installed. Now, does that sound practical, or is there something I'm missing?

Hi Rick. Go to Settings > Apps > All > Opera > clear cache, then clear data. If still won't work, do it again the reinstall the app.

Hi Rawley. It'll be best for you to directly contact your carrier to assist you with this to avoid changing other voicemail settings by mistake.

Hi Carl P:

Thanx for responding! To answer your question, well...yes & no. Not trying to be facetious but this is a touchy subject...for some. It seems there is an issue of whether or not the bootloader is locked on these models(?) Should I find the answer to that, then the original question will be academic. There are many custom ROM's for the Kk 4.2 that will upgrade, provided the bootloader is 'open". Seems to me there ought to be a way to get around the bldr issue, but what those are, I haven't a clue. I'm looking for a different/newer phone, but for now, I'll keep "goggling" and asking around at different forums. Stay sharp and enjoy the summer!

Rick

That totally depends on the manufacturer. You should directly contact them and ask about your phone's future updates.
