About HTC

High Tech Computer Corporation, or HTC, is a major player in the wireless marketplace. Originally HTC made phones for other manufacturers, but more recently has made a big splash by putting their own name on an array of exciting, cutting edge devices.

HTC’s cell phone focus is generally the high end devices with the very latest technology, although as a manufacturer for other companies they made a whole range of phones.

During 2007 and 2008 HTC became one of the most talked about cell phone manufacturers and continues to create excitement based on their novel smartphones and, more recently, touch screen interfaces.

Check in settings under network. there should be some information about sim cards there, after you have a second active sim in your phone, when you call or text it will ask you which sim card/phone number you want to use.

My ht c bolt is about a year old and 2 days ago when I was on the camera app my phone just turned off and vibrates, turns to the white HTC  screen it does this over and over. I have tried to do the hard reset and it will only go to one screen after holding Jonah's down volume and power button it had rebot , rebot to bootloader, bolt to download, bolt to recovery, power down. I have tried all of them some just come back to that screen and some go to a black screen with grey ht c and in a couple second s it will go back to the white screen. Help please....

I had previously tried the soft reset (hold down power and vol up) several times with no results. I just held down power and vol down until the menu buttons started blinking. It took about 4 seconds. That rebooted the phone. I tried that earlier and it didn't work, so I don't know why it worked now, but phone has rebooted and is working fine. Note: was stuck on that screen for about 3 hours.

Carla, try with following methods:

Power off and then power back on

Powering off the phone for a few seconds will clear and refresh the RAM, returning the device to normal performance.

  1. Press and hold the POWER button until the power options appear.
  2. Tap Power Off and wait until the phone powers down completely.
  3. After a few moments of the phone being powered off, hold the POWER button to power the phone back on.

Check your storage spaceSome apps and processes can run more slowly if there is not enough storage space available or if a faulty storage card is installed.Check your phone's storage in Settings > Storage, and delete or move files if your storage space is too low. If your phone supports a microSD card and there's one installed, try removing or replacing the storage card to see if that helps the issue.

Hi Carla. If the phone is still lagging after factory resetting it, it'll be best to have it checked. It's probably a hardware issue.

No. Not anymore. I rely a lot on USB OTG to transfer files between my phone & my USB-stick, and was gutted when an update took that option from my previous HTC.

I haven't got a clue as to how to crack / root my phone, so I ordered the HTC 10. And all was right with the world: I had OTG again!

...until the next (mandatory) update about 2 months in.

Yep, it's f@cked again.

I seriously hate those mandatory updates.

Simple rule: "if it's not broken, then don't fix it......"

Well it totally depends on your usage. Also, keep in mind that battery performance worsens as it gets old.

Hi Stacey. Did the receive of the picture get a bad quality? Open the Messages app and check it's settings if there's a way to adjust MMS quality. In case there isn't try other text messaging apps like Go SMS Pro and Textra.

Also, you may want to consider using apps like WhatsApp and Viber when sending photos to family and friends.
