“So let's gather our thoughts for a moment. The 7 Mozart is no doubt one of the most stylish WP7 devices right now, bearing HTC's usual top-notch build quality. Likewise with the software: both the OS and the HTC apps ran well on our device, which again testify HTC's phone-manufacturing skills. Of course, potential buyers should take note of the comparatively smaller 3.7-inch screen to suit their needs -- you may have to squint a tad closer, but in return you get a more pocket-friendly form factor, plus the screen quality here is actually better than what we saw on the HD7's 4.3-inch monstrosity. Our only serious disappointment is with the subpar camera performance and shoddy earphones -- both typical of HTC these days, it seems. Well, the choice is yours, friend.”
“The HTC 7 Mozart is all the Trophy is and more. With a great screen, comfortable, ergonomic design and an attractive interface with a lot of promise, the phone won’t do everything an Android handset will, however, it’s much easier to work your way around, and with the bonus of an 8MP camera with a xenon flash, it makes for a compelling choice. If you aren’t concerned about the camera, check out the HTC 7 Trophy for an almost identical experience just without the 8MP sensor andxenon flash. Other options include the HTC Desire HD for a more multimedia-centric Android alternative, or the iPhone 4 if you want better app support.”
“Being one of the first HTC Windows Phone 7 handsets, the 7 Mozart fills the role of music handset, which is reflected in its name. Despite this, the Mozart does little to distance itself from its sibling, the Trophy, which appears to be no less equipped for music, yet is touted as the gaming handset of the bunch. The Mozart's main strength over the Trophy is its 8 megapixel camera and accompanying Xenon flash. However, in reality the bump in megapixels did little to improve the Mozart's photo quality, and the xenon flash gives many photos an unwanted blue tint. Otherwise, the only other difference from the Trophy is the smaller display offered by the Mozart, which still offers the same WVGA resolution as its sibling, despite the smaller (by 0.1 inch) size. As smartphones go, the Mozart is a very capable performer, with a 1GHz processor, 8GB of built-in storage, and a large capacitive touch screen. The Windows Phone 7 user interface that it uses is fresh and different from rival UIs, so it's certainly worth a look if you're not keen on other recent smartphone offerings, and it's a definite improvement on the old Windows Mobile UI.”
“The HTC 7 Mozart is an attractive phone with a good build quality. In terms of performance, it is on par with other WP7 phones and runs smoothly. Also, surfing on Internet Explorer was good although it lacks Flash support. We like the unique look and feel of WP7 in general and the OS ran smoothly on the Mozart. However, WP7 still has a long way to go before it can be a viable contender to the iOS and Android operating systems. WP7 still lacks multitasking capability, Bing Maps doesn't have local maps and there is still no local Marketplace. All in all, the HTC Mozart is a great phone to have if you like to listen to lots of songs and surf the Web on the go.”
