“That brings me to my final comment on the device- the speakerphone. My HTC (iMate) Jam’s speaker was horrid. When I upgraded to the next generation Jam I found that the speaker functionality was… HORRID. Fast forward a few years and the speakerphone on the Inspire 4G is still pretty lousy. I tried to use it for a number of phone calls and ended up putting my headset every time. It really is the weak link in an otherwise good device. It may sound like I didn’t like the Inspire 4G but that is not the case. There is a ton to like on this device and at a price of $99 US on contract this is a truly attractive option for people looking for a solid Android handset. It is far from perfect but, then again, I’ve yet to come across a device that is.”
“Without taking into consideration the small issues with the phone's build finishes, the Desire HD has almost a stellar design. If not for the pieces of plastic and that cover different part of the device, this would have been a 10 out of 10. However, there's another problem that makes the phone less appealing than its big size, and that's the crappy battery. If you can get past this, HTC Desire HD is powerful Android smartphone that offers great functionality.”
“The HTC Desire HD is one of two new high-end Android handsets from HTC, and provides an upgraded feature set over the original Desire, with a focus on multimedia. It is packed with new features such as an upgraded 8 megapixel autofocus camera, a larger 4.3 touchscreen, and extras like Dolby Mobile and DLNA media sharing. That's not all, though, because the Desire HD is running the Android 2.2 (Froyo) OS, with an updated version of its HTC Sense UI on-board to liven things up. The original Desire's 1GHz processor remains, but, disappointingly, the battery has been sized down to 1230mAh, despite its thirst for power. HTC have also added more customization features into the Desire HD, including skins and more widgets than ever before, plus the Android Market allows users to fill the device with the apps of their choice. Also available on the Desire HD is HTC's new HTCSense.com service that allows users to back up their phones and find lost/stolen phones, with a remote wipe feature thrown in for good measure.”
“The Desire HD's super-charged hardware, show-off screen and updated HTC Sense interface make it a great super-smartphone. So why does it have such appalling battery life?”

To start this off, I must state that I was a huge fan of the original HTC Desire. Its sleek design and stealthy look gave it an instant feel of superiority over the other Android devices I have had the pleasure of demoing. That being said, I was quite excited to hear that the new HTC Desire HD wa...
