“AT&T had one shining smartphone for a long time. Now the carrier seems to be growing up, offering several strong choices. I see the HTC Inspire as the most mainstream of AT&T's three upcoming Android super-phones—the Samsung Infuse 4G is even bigger, and the Motorola Atrix may be too much phone for some people. We'll see when we review those two phones over the next few weeks. For now, though, the HTC Inspire can hold its own with the best American smartphones.”

“While there's competition coming right around the corner, this is the best phone on AT&T, and the first phone I've used that is a true competitor to the iPhone for the average consumer. It's no iPhone killer, because that doesn't exist. But it's easy to use, looks great, is well built and provides a great user experience -- some things we don't always see with other phones. I've enjoyed my time with it (something that isn't always true) and would recommend it to anyone who was comfortable with the size, and knows they will be able to use a charger when they need to. HTC has done this one right.”

“Obviously, the HTC Inspire 4G doesn’t come off as being an innovative product that breaks down walls and barriers because we’ve seen it done already with the HTC EVO 4G. Nevertheless, it presents AT&T customers their first taste of a high-caliber HTC device that’s sure to inspire customers with its equipped performance. And even though we’re disappointed by the so-called HSPA+ speeds it obtained in our testing, the most impressive part about the Inspire 4G is its right out of the gate on-contract pricing of $99.99. In fact, it boats plenty of value for the dollar since it’s chocked full off inspiring hardware under the hood to satisfy even the most demanding users out there. As much as we’d love to see this become common with other high-end smartphones, we know it’s simply wishful thinking at this point, but we’re sure that customers will be inspired by it nonetheless.”

“The HTC Inspire 4G is certainly one of the better Android phones you can buy in this price range. For $99, you get a large display for surfing the web and watching videos, mobile hotspot capability, and a sharp camera and camcorder. And music lovers will definitely dig the SRS WOW sound. Still, we didn't see 4G speeds in our tests, and we have a couple of complaints about the design of this handset (narrow volume rocker, annoying battery cover). Overall, though, the Inspire 4G is a good value for AT&T customers, and it will hopefully get better as the carrier continues its 4G buildout.”
