Critic consensus
“A year ago, the HTC One VX for AT&T would've been a top-of-the-line superphone. Today it's just a beautiful smartphone with solid specs and a budget price. The HTC One VX gets you a lovely display, plenty of power, and good battery life, all wrapped up in a phone that's very comfortable to use.”
“It's easy to dismiss the HTC One VX as just another mid- to low-end phone, but don't. It's a surprisingly good one, created specifically to fill a void in AT&T's lineup. It's currently listed at $49 with a two year contract, or $399 outright., which, frankly, isn't horrible for the type of phone this is. HTC's and AT&T's customizations help make things easier on first-time owners. And the One VX continues to say something about HTC as a smartphone manufacturer. When your most lowly phones are this well done, you're doing things right.”
“The HTC One VX is one heck of a deal, offering an unparalleled combination of features and design for just $49. Yes, we'd like to see Android Jelly Bean added sooner than later, but otherwise the VX has everything you could want in a budget smartphone. It boasts some of the fastest 4G LTE speeds we've seen, a bright (though not HD) display and a very capable camera. We'd much rather carry this device than the similarly priced LG Escape, which looks plain by comparison and has a dimmer display. Those with more to spend should step up to the quad-core $199 One X+ on AT&T, which runs the latest Android OS and has a sharper 720p screen, but if you're on a budget the VX is a superb choice.”
“Needless to say, we’ve seen an increase of very remarkable entry-level smartphones in the market – such as the LG Escape and Pantech Flex, with the two being priced aggressively. Well people, we’re happy to vouch for the HTC One VX as well, considering that it has that great balance of features, price point, and performance to appease those who aren’t looking to spend a fortune. On top of that, its design is undeniably something that stands head above water against most of the offerings out there in the same space. So if your budget stands at a mere $50, you’re sure to get your money’s worth out of the HTC One VX.”
