LG Lucid 4G
Key specs
Critic consensus
“The LG Lucid may be a budget Android smartphone for Verizon Wireless, but it never seems inexpensive. It wasn't too long ago that 4G LTE data, 1080p video recording, and a dual-core processor were considered high-end, even if cutting edge handsets are just now moving past those specs. That makes the Lucid a good choice if you don't need the absolute fastest speeds or latest features, but don't want to miss out on anything important either.”
“Could a device that launches with only a promise of an Ice Cream Sandwich update be the one for you? Combining a great overall build quality with a stylish design, the LG Lucid is no device to simply overlook. The 1.2GHz dual-core processor is no joke when it comes to power, and the 4G LTE (if available in your area) is a great thing to have. While packing nearly every spec you could wish for in a high end device, the Lucid is currently sitting with a price tag of only $79 (after a $50) rebate, and this is about 1/3 the cost of most other high end devices. The Lucid is definitely worthy of a look, take it for a spin, and see if the device is right for you.”
“There's little doubt in my mind that, for the people the Lucid is marketed to, it offers the best entry-level experience of any Android smartphone on any carrier in the US today. You get all the buzzwords - dual-core, 4G, apps, video chat, voice controls, and a beautiful display. Not only that, the Lucid isn't bad in the real world, either. It isn't perfect , but its feature set definitely makes it the low-price king of the hill for now.”
“The LG Lucid packs a lot of good stuff into its small frame. For an affordable $79, consumers get a device with a bright and vivid display, solid 4G LTE speeds and features that make Android more approachable and fun for smartphone newbies. However, the HTC Rezound offers Beats-enhanced audio and a sharper 720p display for $49, making it the best deal right now on Verizon. Nevertheless, those who prefer something less bulky will find plenty to like in the LG Lucid.”

In Depth
The LG Lucid 4G is a budget smartphone that supports CDMA networks and 4G LTE. Although it ships with Android 2.3 Gingerbread as the default operating system, it is supposed to get an upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in the future.
Hardware features include a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, a 4-inch 480×800 touchscreen display, a 5-megapixel main camera with LED flash, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi n, and GPS with A-GPS. A couple hardware bonuses include support for microSD cards up to 32GB and full HD, 1080p video recording.
The Lucid weighs just a hair over 140 grams and comes with an 11mm profile, which makes it quite comfortable to carry around. And it can indeeed be carried around for quite some time thanks to the standard battery which offers up to 8 hours of talk time on a single charge.
This phone sits nowhere near the high-end. Apart from the 4G LTE connectivity, the only other truly notable thing about it might be its affordable purchase price. But that is no doubt an important consideration that definitely makes it worth a look.
