LG Spirit 4G

“The LG Spirit is a good middle-class package: cheap, suitable performance, a stylish yet ergonomic case and a decent, high-resolution panel. The battery life is quite long and the temperature emissions are low. The interface is good and the manufacturer has not made major changes to the Android 5.0.1 OS. We like the case as well, as it is sturdy and the back is removable. However, there are some flaws which dampen our enthusiasm: why does the speaker have such strong distortions at max volume? Why is the storage so limited? Furthermore, the OS occasionally lags and we would like a better grip on the back.”

“For $199, the LG Spirit 4G delivers strong performance, a bright 4.5-inch screen and long battery life. You also get some of LG's nifty software innovations, such as QuickMemo. Metro PCS customers willing to spend more up front will prefer the $499 Galaxy S III, which offers a bigger and sharper screen along with a better camera. Overall, though, the LG Spirit 4G is one of the better phones in MetroPCS' growing stable of affordable powerhouses.”

“The LG Spirit 4G has a big, vibrant screen and 4G LTE, and is one of the few Android 4.0 ICS handsets on MetroPCS. The audio speaker is poor and I heard my voice echoing at times during calls. Despite its ho-hum call quality, the LG Spirit 4G is an affordable smartphone that performs reliably and runs Android 4.0.”

“There are better phones out there, and yes, there are better phones available on MetroPCS, but if you’re looking for the best bang for your buck option available on the carrier, the LG Spirit 4G is definitely worth the $199 it is currently going for via their website. While the screen resolution and camera may not be at the top of the class, the performance and general sturdiness of the Spirit make it a serious contender in the mid-range market.”
