LG Viewty

“The Viewty Smart has a gorgeous display and a best-of-class user interface. But we've already seen that stuff on the LG Arena so our brief experience with the Viewty was hardly a revelation.Instead of bringing any revolutionary upgrades, the LG Viewty Smart is there to simply expand the LG S-class portfolio in a camera-centric direction. The LG Arena has quite a nice camera as well, but a 5 megapixel sensor is no longer flagship stuff these days.Since the LG Viewty Smart retains almost the same compact dimensions as the LG Arena, fitting the bigger camera module, called for a certain downgrade of the other features. In this case, it was obviously the 3.5mm audio jack and the FM transmitter that got axed.Still, the LG GC900 Viewty Smart certainly has the potential of becoming a bestseller and we really hope to see more of it, once it gets to the final production stage.”

“The Viewty is a very stylish and fashionable phone, trying to take on Apple's mighty iPhone with its large touch-sensitive display and simple form-factor. It builds on these features by including a 5 megapixel camera, 120fps video capture, and HSDPA 3G connectivity, making it a serious contender to the iPhone, which lacks all of these features. However, the Viewty's interface doesn't feel as polished as that of the iPhone, and although it is very intuitive and fun to use, it can also be very sluggish at times, especially when trying to enter text. I also wish that the call quality was better and had more volume to it, though, for the most part it was acceptable.Overall though, the Viewty was great fun to use and packed plenty of handy features. For those who want the awe of the iPhone, the Viewty will not fail to deliver with it's large colorful touch screen, and will out-spec the iPhone in terms of its photographic and data connectivity features. From my time spent with the Viewty I'd give it an overall Recommended rating.”
