“It's almost unfathomable to see Verizon tie the knot with Android – especially seeing how the carrier passed up the iPhone and usually packs on its applications on smartphones. The obvious comparisons will be made between the DROID and other premier handsets available on the market, including ones that are already part of the Android lineup. Verizon has definitely got itself a jewel in the form of the Motorola DROID and will most likely provide some much needed attention to the open platform. In doing so, it shows Verizon's commitment in lessening their control on how a phone should be retrofitted with software out of the box. As for Motorola, the hype and talk around this phone lives up to the expectations. Being the creators of such a quality product, it clearly places Motorola in the correct direction to becoming the dominant figure it once was. We've slowly seen in the last year how they've changed their focus on the design of their handsets, for example the Motorola Krave ZN4 and Karma QA1 – all culminating to the eventual creation of the Motorola DROID.With a lot of attention in both ads featured online and television, the DROID is fast becoming a household name. We found very few faults with the device – specifically the minor choppy movements when you navigate through the three home screen pages. Its improvements in the hardware department make it a worthy addition to the Android lineup that's becoming more robust. It's too early to tell whether the DROID will have a profound impact on how the Android platform is received by consumers, but we're sure that its presence on Verizon will attract a whole new audience, not to mention that the HTC DROID Eris will also make its Verizon debut. For Google, this is a win-win position for them thanks partly to Android 2.0 - we're going to expect to see a shift in the mind share of Google's playing field in various software industries. Pack all of these things in a sleek body that's constructed and put together with the finest of materials, you'll have yourself a winner that's sure to stand top among the best of the best. It may not be completely perfect, but it does place the emphasis of DROID in Android.”
“Yet, the phone is endearingly quirky. Tweak the settings to turn on the haptic feedback and you can feel a nice rumble each time you press a button. And then there's the squawking of the word 'drooooiddd' in a robotic monotone when you power up the phone or get a voice message.Overall, Droid makes the iPhone 3G look a little tired, the BlackBerry boring, and the Palm Pre an after-thought. The Droid doesn't have a single wow feature. Rather, it's the combination of solid phone, smart user interface, and Verizon's kick-ass network that makes the Droid a cut above most smartphones. If it were 2 ounces lighter and had a better keyboard (or no keyboard at all), it would be hands-down the best smartphone on the market today. As it is, it's a solid contender in a market that has too long been dominated by just one top-quality handset.”
“If you must compare the DROID to the iPhone, then know that the Android platform still has a ways to go before the experience of using the phone is as seamless as the one Apple has created -- but also know that Apple has a long way to go before its messaging, email, and customization can match what Google is offering. Both products have very distinct strengths and weaknesses. So, is the DROID a good smartphone? Yes, the DROID is an excellent smartphone with many (if not all) of the features that a modern user would expect, and if you're a Verizon customer, there probably isn't a more action packed device on the network. That's not to say the device doesn't have its faults, the camera was unpleasant to use, the application selection feels thin in both quantity and quality (despite the claim of 10,000 options), and the phone has bits of basic, non-intuitive functionality that might chafe on some users after a while. But even still, it's hard not to recommend the DROID to potential buyers eager to do more with their devices. It's easily the best Android phone to date, and when you couple the revamped OS, Verizon's killer network, and an industrial design straight from a gadget enthusiast's fever-dream, it makes for a powerful concoction. Ultimately, the DROID won't usurp the iPhone from the public's collective mindshare or convince casual users that they must switch to Android, but it will make a lot of serious geeks seriously happy -- and that's good enough for us.”
“Hands down, the Motorola MILESTONE is one of the best smartphones on the market today. Even if a tad heftier than what we would have liked, the build quality is great and the device sports awesome functionality, including capable browser and probably the best camera found on Android phones today. On the other hand, the MILESTONE is not exactly exemplary in terms of advanced software, due to the fact it lacks certain extra features that make the CDMA version more attractive (Facebook integration, Google Maps Navigation etc.)People who love customizing their handsets themselves and like solid devices will definitely find the Motorola MILESTONE quite appealing. But we believe that seekers of sophisticated and elaborately developed interface and proper integration of social networks would be better off opting for the HTC Hero. Finally, we do have high expectations of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 that is to roll out soon and has the potential to become more than a match for any technologically advanced Android handset. All told, the Motorola MILESTONE is an excellent device that is one of the first steps in the comeback of the manufacturer, a true milestone device for a troubled, former majesty that has lived without glory long enough. The cell phone got sold out pretty quickly after its official release in the UK, which proves the great interest that customers seem to take in the device. Still, we doubt the Motorola MILESTONE will win the almost religious popularity that its CDMA version for Verizon, the DROID, has gained in the US.”

I get your SIM card does not allow you to register on this network about half the time when trying to connect to my own network. Connecting to wireless can completely drain a full battery in around 20 minutes. I get no connections if I am more than 1 yard from an outside wall in my house. Attempt...
I'm not sure what the other users are talking about but I have had this phone since early fall of 2009 and not many issues yet. Yes it might not be fast like these new 4g phones but it beats any blackberry that was released before september 2011 and is more durable and reliable than other flimsy ...
