“The RAZR is the runway models of cell phones: anorexic but fashionable. The new KRZR K1 is the same runway model, but with more memory, a shorter chassis, and a bigger bottom. Yet somehow we found it strangely more desirable than a RAZR. Our unit came outfitted with nifty MP3 playback and VCAST services letting us alternately rock out or watch music videos and TV shows. (Really, who can resist a 5-minute Daily Show clip?) But for longtime RAZR users, the incremental improvements this handset offers might not spark enough KRZ to warrant the hassle of an upgrade.WIRED Touch-sensitive music controls will have you yelping Cool! aloud. Easy to navigate media player. Smaller folded size makes awkward bulge in pants slightly less awkward. Battery life, memory slot, camera resolution, screen brightness all improved from the RAZR. Impressive speakers for a cell phone.TIRED Touch-sensitive music controls way are too sensitive. Phone's design is neither original nor innovative. No flash for camera. Awkward to flip open with one hand.”

I had this kind of phone for 2 years. It was a pretty good phone but the battery life just wasnt the best. The phone would die in less then a day. I always had to make sure that i was charged up. This phone also would make a very loud noise when your battery is going dead and there is no way to t...
We've received a great number of K1M and K1 phones all with the same issue - the outer cover seems to either get smashed easily or several hundred people are pretty clumsy. Probably a combination of both factors but the phone doesn't seem to be very durable.
I have had mine for 2 1/2 years now I had some trouble with it in the beginning, it wouldn't stay charged (it would go dead after 1 hour on stand by!) sent it back they fixed it and never had a problem again, it has great reception ( I am in an area where it is very hard to have good reception ) ...
In Depth
The KRZR K1M is the RAZR’s better-looking sister. Looking more like a fashion accessory than a piece of technology, the K1M is an attractive iteration in the firmly established RAZR franchise.
The K1M is a CDMA phone (Sprint, Verizon, Bell, Telus, etc.) that runs on the high-speed EVDO network, provides a WAP browser which, combined with its 176×220 pixel internal display, creates a passable internet experience, and rounds out its feature set with 64MB of onboard flash memory, expandable microSD memory slot and a mini USB port for PC syncing. It also includes illuminated external MP3 controls and a phonebook that can store up to 1,000 contacts. The K1M provides a variety of ways to customize the look and sound of your device. This clamshell also features a 96×80 pixel external display, useful for checking the time.
One interesting improvement over prior versions is the keypad. Although it looks similar to the RAZR keypad, it actually uses a technology called electroforatic deposition, a fancy phrase that means the keys are soft to the touch, with an almost rubbery feel.
If you are a fan of shiny phones, you will definitely enjoy the look and feel of the Motorola KRZR K1M. Good sound quality for phone calls and a competent MP3 player makes this flip worth a look.
