“There isn't too much that's new in the Motorola Razr+ for 2025, but it's a fun phone to use, has bright and clear displays, and still performs well against the competition.”

“This year's Razr lineup is a little underwhelming when it comes to upgrades - outside of the Ultra models, that is. In that sense, the US-only Razr+ 2025 is probably in the weirdest position of being virtually the same as the 2024 one, raising some questions about its marketability. The 2025 model, just like the 2024 model, has its share of strong points. The nice displays inside and out are among them, tied in with some of the best foldable software experience you can get. A telephoto camera in this segment is hard to find, and the photo quality overall is pretty solid. Great speakers and fast charging are among the welcome little things too.”

“The Motorola Razr Plus 2025 doesn't look different from the 2024 model, but it stands apart from the competition thanks to Motorola's genuinely excellent design and build quality, plus software features that feel bespoke designed for the form factor. The cover screen is the star of the show, feeling like a proper small phone rather than a giant smartwatch like some other foldable. Performance could be better for the price, and we still miss the ultrawide camera from the 2023 model, but great battery life, very fast charging, and fun camera modes help make up for those shortcomings.”

“Performance is fairly decent, and the battery life is more than acceptable, a welcome step over the regular Razr yet not as good as the Ultra. The camera is quite decent, too, and the lack of an ultrawide is a non-issue, to be honest. Selfies are lovely, but only when you take them with the main camera. But my favorite thing here is the overall user experience, shared between Motorola's take on Android 15 and the mighty useful cover screen.”

In Depth

Design

The Razr+ 2025 is crafted with a sturdy aluminum frame and titanium hinge, enhancing its durability while maintaining a sleek appearance. The phone fits comfortably in your hand, and its compact folded size ensures portability and ease of use when you’re on the go.

Motorola offers the phone in eye-catching colors like Hot Pink and Mocha Mousse, which reviewers praised, particularly noting, “The Mocha Mousse vegan leather model is stunning to behold”, according to Android Central. This material choice adds a touch of luxury and improves grip but may attract some dust and debris.

Display(s)

The Razr+ boasts a dazzling 4-inch external display that’s a treat for everyday use. This fully functional screen lets you run apps and enjoy actions usually reserved for larger screens. Reviewers love how it “feels like a proper small phone rather than a giant smartwatch,” as Android Central states.

The internal display impresses with vivid colors and clarity but may suffer in direct sunlight when compared to pricier models, as PCMags experts found.

Performance

The phone uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, similar to last year’s version. “Performance could be better for the price,” Android Central remarked, highlighting its mid-range capabilities in comparison to competitors.

While it handles daily tasks well, performance falters with graphics-heavy games, experiencing frame rate drops. This means you might find gaming less smooth than on other high-end phones.

Despite these limitations, daily operations like app switching and multitasking are smooth, making it a fine option for typical smartphone users who don’t require the fastest gaming experience.

Software & Storage

The Motorola Razr+ features a clean user interface that feels nearly like stock Android, making it intuitive and user-friendly.

You’ll enjoy browsing, playing games, and managing your apps all from the outer display without unnecessary steps or complications. As noted by PCMag, “You can access almost all your software from the outer display,” which takes convenience a step further.

The phone, however, has a shorter software support window compared to competitors, with only three years of updates. Reviewers mention this is less than what you would get with brands like Google or Samsung, making future proofing a consideration.

Cameras

You’ll enjoy snapping photos with the 50MP main camera, as it delivers accurate colors in bright settings. Unfortunately, zooming often lessens details in pictures, especially with distant objects, as pointed out by reviewers at PCMag. Yet, its portrait mode shines, making group photos look amazing on the cover screen.

While some users may miss the ultrawide lens from previous models, the telephoto lens offers moderate zoom capabilities. Android Central mentioned how the handy flip phone design lets you capture hands-free photos by placing the phone on any surface.

Battery

The Motorola Razr+ (2025) comes with a 4,000mAh battery, offering up to nearly 13 hours of full use — a bit shy of its competitors, which reviewers from PCMag note last much longer. While you might not find it comparing well in terms of sheer longevity, the phone aims to keep your usage simple with fast 45W wired charging, allowing for a full charge in about 45 minutes, as noted by experts at Android Central.

You can charge wirelessly at up to 15W, which brings ease when you need to power up instantly without worrying about cables. The phone also includes 5W reverse charging for convenient top-ups on your earbuds or other accessories. If battery life is crucial, consider that some users recommend the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 for slightly more longevity. The Razr+, however, makes up for this with a faster recharge capability, which can swiftly power your daily routine without downtime.

Audio

The phone excels in call quality. You can expect crisp and clear conversations without any issues. The earpiece produces loud sound, making sure you hear everything clearly.

When you play music or watch movies, the dual stereo speakers deliver average sound with good bass levels. One reviewer mentioned a slight vibration while playing bass-heavy tracks.

For the best audio experience, consider connecting wireless headphones or additional speakers. Reviewers appreciate the phone’s sound capabilities, especially during calls and casual media consumption, even if external audio options might enhance your music or video sessions.

The Bottom Line

This phone offers a unique experience with its impressive cover display, allowing you to access apps without unfolding. While it boosts the phone’s usability, the internal features mostly remain unchanged from the previous model.

Reviewers appreciate its stylish design and strong build, noting “routine tasks feel smooth,” but performance might not justify its price, especially with average camera quality.

For those who value design and functionality over raw performance, it’s a sensible choice.
