“When Samsung announced the Galaxy S III, they saw to it that their top smartphone matched - at the very least - the best on the market. And because no effort was too much in insuring against any surprises, they ended up with something that's nearly impossible to beat. Love it or hate it, the S III is one of the top phones on the market and will stay so for quite a while. When we say hate it, we're mostly referring to its size (though it's not much bigger than the S II) and the plastic the outer body is made of - both have their detractors. Those two aside, the Galaxy S III leaves users with no other options but be impressed - from the light, slender body, the beautiful screen, the improved camera, powerful chipset to all kinds of advanced software features (some of which are truly useful, while others are just for show). Some of the S III tricks have the potential to be trend-setters (like Smart Stay, Direct call and S Beam), others are me-too kind of add-ons (burst shot, S Voice) and some need quite a lot of work to become useful at all (S Voice springs to mind again).Still, no matter how you cut it, the Samsung Galaxy S III is a phone that all others will have to measure up to.In the end though, it seems the Galaxy S III has such a comfortable lead that Samsung may as well ease off the gas and let others catch up. Once again, the bar's been raised quite high and yet another Galaxy S is setting the standards - not only for Android but smartphones as a whole. Oh wait, we've said that before, haven't we?”

“Samsung had a lot to live up to with the release of its latest flagship Galaxy phone. Having set the bar for Android smartphones with the Galaxy S II and Galaxy Nexus – and seen it exceeded with the HTC One X – the S3 needed to be a special phone.Although some people may prefer the truer whites of the One X's screen, the Samsung Galaxy S3 still more than deserves to stand at the top of the pile, just above its HTC rival. Given its innovative software, expandable storage and much better battery life, the S3 has a rightful claim to be crowned the new king of Android phones. And Apple needs to watch its back... the smartphone war isn't won yet.”

“With its combination of form and function, the Samsung Galaxy S3 excels where it counts, and at a price that matches the features. However, by many measures, the Galaxy S III isn't the top Android phone on the market. HTC's One X has the brighter, more detailed screen, the sturdier build quality, and the extras, like Beats Audio, that consistently work. In addition, Samsung's S Voice repeatedly blunders in understanding and executing on tasks, both here in the U.S. and in the U.K. On the other hand, the GS3 has an excellent camera, expandable memory (which the One X doesn't have), and double the RAM. S Beam sharing over WiFi Direct is a smash hit, and Samsung has beefed up its camera software. With no One X in the picture, the GS3 would be the unquestionable Android king. And then there's the looming spectre of the iPhone 5, which is expected to land in fall with 4G LTE support, a 4-inch Retina Display, a faster processor, and a more evolved camera. Hype alone will make some hold off on buying the GS3. Samsung's effort here is clear, the company is trying hard and taking risks. Evolving Voice Actions to S Voice was no mean feat, and I hope the programmers work out the kinks in the next update. I also hope that Samsung will offer a more satisfying screen that stands up to the competition. Would I recommend buying the Samsung Galaxy S3? Absolutely, and it is without a doubt my favorite Samsung phone available today. Yet I slightly prefer the One X for AT&T subscribers, and I wouldn't recommend the GS3 to iPhone fans who prize the crystal-clear Retina Display and Siri.”

“When looking at T-Mobile's current lineup, there's no doubt in our minds that the Samsung Galaxy S III is our number one choice, so long as price isn't a factor. The HTC One S is still a great performer and will be ideal for anyone wary of TouchWiz, the price tag or the larger frame, but Sammy's darling offers the same amazing performance -- with a beautiful HD display, to boot. It's a tough device to say no to, if you're worried about the temptation, you may want to avoid eye contact for a while... or at least hide your wallet somewhere.”

We tried two of these phones and neither one worked in our area. Odd....our other Samsung phones (Droid Razor, i200 & Note III) work just fine.

In Depth

The Samsung Galaxy S III is the third iteration of Samsung’s highly successful Galaxy S and is currently the most popular smartphone available anywhere in terms of sales. After nearly 3 months on store shelves across the world, Samsung has already sold over 10 million units. And no doubt it’s going to sell millions more, mainly because of the phone’s outstanding hardware and software features that make it a cut above the vast majority of the handsets offered by the competition.

The III’s highlights in terms of hardware include a 4.8-inch 720p HD Super AMOLED touchscreen display that’s covered with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 2, an 8-megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash and 1080p video recording capability, plus a 1.4 GHz quad-core Cortex A9 processor with 1GB of RAM. All of this, along with many other hardware niceties such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and HSDPA data, makes it one of the most powerful and feature-rich Android smartphones ever.

Speaking of Android, the Samsung Galaxy S III comes with version 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich pre-installed, and a free update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is already in the pipeline. This should make it one of the first handsets on the market to run the latest version of the Android software. It also has a bunch of noteworthy software features like S-Voice, which takes a user’s voice commands then executes the necessary actions, and Dropbox integration, which gives users 50GB of free online storage space for backup. For most people, though, the best feature of the Samsung Galaxy S III software-wise is its built-in support for the world’s most popular social networking sites and Google services.

There’s a 2100mAh battery located underneath the Samsung Galaxy S III’s back over, which is said to be good for up to 12 hours of 3G talk time. That’s an impressive feat considering the fact that the overall thickness of the handset checks in at just 9mm. Whether or not you are a fan of Samsung’s design or manufacturing philosophies, it’s hard to deny that they’ve made a darn good phone with the Galaxy S III.

Need To Know: Samsung Galaxy S III

1. Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is pre-installed as standard and a free upgrade to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is on the way. (The Good)

2. The 4.8-inch 720×1280 pixel resolution Super AMOLED touchscreen display is among the best in its class and provides excellent picture quality. (The Good)

3. The lack of support for 4G LTE networks is something that users in certain areas will surely miss. (The Bad)

4. An otherwise expansive built-in display is considered by some users as entirely too big and makes the phone somewhat difficult to operate in that it requires both hands to use. (The Bad)

Hi aiman. Might have something to do with the contact on the charger and charging port, humidity or debris. Try to clean them and check if the problem happens again.
