Critic consensus
“As to the original Xperia X10 mini, we guess it can safely call it a day. The ultra-compact class is in safe hands and stays in the family. Things are looking good for Sony Ericsson in the midrange - and the Xperia mini is a small phone that can make a big difference. It doesn't want to be a flagship when it grows up. Good. It can be anything it wants.”
“It might not be the best of cameraphone and convenient GPS device, but sacrifices in terms of functionality are often needed with when going for an ultra-compact form-factor.With the Sony Ericsson Xperia mini, you'll surely succeed in being different. The tiny handset is indeed a looker, and it is such offerings that feel like a breath of fresh air in this crowded market.”
“In terms of value for money, it's a decent option. The 3 screen is a little limiting if you're into mobile media and gaming, but the phone itself is a glitch-free, user-friendly little marvel you won't end up hating. There are more capable Android phones available for less money, but none that are as pocketable and enjoyable to use as the Xperia Mini.”

In Depth
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini is an ultra-compact Android smartphone that was first released in August 2011. It is an update to the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini and as such, brings several improvements to the table. Among these is a larger, crisper display that measures 3-inches diagonally and boasts a native resolution of 320×480 pixels.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini also features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard that can be used for typing and navigating menus alongside the touchscreen controls. This has made it rather thick for a phone of its size. However, it is still very pocketable.
The user interface on the Xperia Mini has been modified to help users make the most out of the limited screen real estate. In every corner of the screen, you’ll find folders for icons and shortcuts. Each folder can hold up to four items each.
Although small, the Xperia Mini certainly packs quite a punch. Inside is a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with 512 MB of RAM. It also features Sony’s famed mobile BRAVIA engine which brings better screen fidelity and is especially important considering with the Xperia Mini offers no way to manually control screen brightness.
