Critic consensus
“Despite the competition trying to catch up, Xiaomi continues to offer the best price-to-performance ratio. The Redmi 7 offers good performance, decent cameras, very long battery runtimes, a flashy design, a stable case, a decent speaker, a fast fingerprint reader and more-or-less up-to-date software for under $150.”
“The Redmi 7 is a cracking deal for anyone looking for an entry-level smartphone that can handle all the basics and more. The phone delivers good performance and a well-optimized usage experience, and it looks smashing while at it.”
“The Redmi 7 experience wasn’t very different than what we had anticipated going in this review. The 2GB RAM variant is strictly meant only for basic users who need to dabble with light apps. If you can’t go beyond the budget of Rs. 8000 and if you are a light user, you may go ahead with the Redmi 7. Otherwise, we’d recommend you extend your budget and choose from phones like Redmi Note 7 or Realme 3.”
“The Redmi 7 is a good phone for its price. The Redmi 7 looks stunning for its price. The gradient finish is a highlight of the phone. And in other aspects, the Redmi 7 is a mixed bag. The phone manages to click pretty good pictures in good light, offers great battery life - possibly one the best under Rs 10,000 -- has decent performance, and comes in several funky colours. I wish the display could have brighter. But regardless, the value that Redmi 7 offers for the price is great.”
