“So, is the ZTE Fury worth the $19.99 price tag that they priced it at? The choice is ultimately your own to make, and while it may seem like a good deal at the time of the sale, is this really something you could see yourself spending the next two years with? The device is already about a year late to the party, so add two more years of evolving technology and think of where you will feel with this device. Performance wise the Fury definitely lives up to expectations, and there is more than enough internally storage space for your favorite applications, but with so many new devices coming around the corner (many of which will likely launch with ICS) is a entry level Gingerbread device worth anyones time at this point?”

“For less than the price of a night at the movies, Sprint's $20 ZTE Fury is certainly affordable, and will last you through a double feature, too. But without 4G and a lackluster camcorder, it doesn't exactly live up to its fierce name. Overall, we prefer the Nexus S 4G on Sprint (free for a limited time) or the LTE-capable Pantech Burst for AT&T ($50). But if you're in the market for a low-price smartphone and want unlimited data for a cheaper price than the bigger carriers, than the Fury is a solid choice.”

“At $19.99 on contract ZTE is obviously going at the budget market with the Fury. Still, the phone manages to impress with its excellent build quality and snappy performance, proving again that you don’t need to spend the big dollars to get a very usable phone. While the call quality suffers a bit, ZTE has made a positive first impression with Sprint and we look forward to higher-end devices down the road.”

“Although I don't know what's got the ZTE Fury so upset, I doubt it will make anyone angry. The device is cheap as they come, and it doesn't skimp on the specs. Setting aside the disagreeable Sprint ID feature and disappointing call and recording quality, it has a zippy processor, a responsive touch screen, an adequate camera, and all the apps you want without all the ones you don't need. If you're looking for a handset to give to your child, I recommend this. It has a nice amount of features so your kid won't feel duped, and it could be our secret that you bought it for less than you spent on that pair of jeans you're wearing.”

In Depth

If you are on the lookout for a reliable little Android smartphone that’s affordable and easy to carry around, you’ll find plenty of choices available on the market today. The ZTE Fury is among the many models you can choose from. It’s available through Sprint in the USA, and while it won’t wow anyone in terms of specs, it has a very wallet-friendly price and should get the job done for most.

The Fury comes equipped with a 3.5-inch QVGA touchscreen display, a 1GHz CPU, 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of internal storage which can be expanded further with microSD cards. Android 2.3 Gingerbread is its default operating system, and you can download hundreds of apps from Google Play for extra functionality.

Overall, the Fury’s feature-set is pretty basic. And for some people, that’s more than enough.
