“My only other note is that I wish for Toca Boca to become a role-model for other developers and remove the small ad for their other app in the opening page of their applications, in full view of children, and to instead hide it in their locked Parents section, which is an area rich with info about Toca Nature, making it definitely worth taking a look at. Even with these notes, Toca Nature is an app for all ages, and one that I heartily recommend.”

I bought this tablet for myself for Christmas from HSN. It's the best of both worlds combining e-reader and computer in a nice 7 inch size. I love this little jewel as the price is right, picture is sharp, color is great, touch screen very responsive, ease of use is perfect, and it has google pla...

In Depth

E-Fun’s latest tablet, the 7” Nextbook Premium 7SE Google Play is their first tablet that offers full access to the 600,000 apps in the Google Play Store. The 7SE offers an expandable micro-SD slot, so users can increase the storage to 32GB. Aside from this, the tablet itself offers a 5 point multi-touch screen and a G-sensor that supports auto-rotate for landscape and portrait viewing. It also comes with a forward facing camera (0.3MP) capable of sending 1080p HD videos to an HDTV or computer thanks to a built-in HDMI port.

Besides the expandable micro-SD slot, the Nextbook Premium 7SE has relatively basic specs. It comes loaded with Android 4.0 OS, houses 1GB of RAM and an Amlogic A9 1GHz processor. Like all tablets, the Nextbook Premiums 7SE has WiFi capabilities. The screen itself offers an 800×480 resolution.

Although the price is great for budget-minded consumers, unfortunately there are much better tablets out there. The onboard storage of 8GB is much smaller than most of the other tablets of its size and class. While consumers can expand their storage to 32GB with the mini-SD, unfortunately most apps are only saved on the internal storage NOT SD cards. For consumers looking to download a lot of apps, it might be wise to look elsewhere. Aside from the storage capacity, the screen itself has very poor viewing angles and has a much lower resolution in comparison to its competitors. The battery life itself is also relatively poor in comparison, clocking in at 5 hours in full use.

For not a lot more, consumers can purchase a Google Nexus 7 that has a much more powerful processor, more onboard memory and a more current version of the Android OS.

The Good: HDMI Port, expandable MicroSD slot, access to Google Play store.

The Bad: Poor viewing angles, small onboard storage, mediocre battery life.
