Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2

“Underneath its hardened and thick skin is a mid-range tablet. It is adequately equipped, and prospective customers will most likely end up purchasing it anyway due to lack of rugged outdoor competition.”

“While I put down the older version of Android as a con, for the work most of us do in the field the version installed on the Tab Active2 is more than adequate. I would like to see the monthly Android security patch be more current and know that Samsung has an excellent track record for timeliness on its smartphones.”

“Although well-equipped for the great outdoors, the imbalance of performance and price means the Tab Active 2 only holds niche appeal.”

“The Galaxy Tab Active2 is clearly not a tablet for everyone. It's aimed at those needing a rugged device that can withstand the elements and a bit of abuse. If this is something you're after then Samsung's tablet will make a good companion. It's one of the most rugged we've tested and benefits from IP68 waterproofing, drops of up to 1m and the ability to operate in extreme temperatures.”
