Critic consensus
“THE GOOD: The HTC Touch Dual features a slide-out 20-key QWERTY keyboard. Its also the first smartphone to ship with Windows Mobile 6.1 in the States and supports HSDPA and Bluetooth 2.0. THE BAD: The Touch Dual lacks Wi-Fi and GPS. Theres no standard audio jack, and its pricey. THE BOTTOM LINE: The HTC Touch Dual offers more functionality and ease of use with the addition of Windows Mobile 6.1 and a tactile keyboard to make it one of the most compact and powerful touch-screen smartphones, but wed still like to see the inclusion of Wi-Fi or GPS, especially for the price.”
“The original HTC Touch received a Highly Recommended rating from us, and most deservingly so. Our main gripe with the original was its lack of an adequate text entry system, which the Touch Dual has addressed. While it still might not be ideal for road warriors looking to get through vast amounts of email or editing of documents (though the SureType-esque semi-QWERTY version goes far to help here), the addition of a keypad makes the Touch Dual much more usable overall.Another gripe we had with the original was its lack of 3G data, which again the Touch Dual has addressed. This is offset, however, by the removal of WiFi access. For users that are predominately in 3G areas, this may be the perfect trade-off, but personally I don't think this really helps the situation from the original.Looking past those two areas, the HTC Touch Dual maintains all the things that made the original great, including the easy to use touch scrolling and menu, the intelligent touch screen to make small items easier to hit, and the great foundation of Windows Mobile 6. This is a business device at heart, but is a device that will easily bridge the work-personal divide, especially with the great gallery and camera applications, and be a handy addition to anyone's organizational arsenal. There is nothing about the HTC Touch Dual that would prevent me from giving it a Highly Recommended rating. It is everything that was wonderful about the original and then some.”

This phone was always slow and only 2 months after my one year warranty was over, it started working horribly. It was always slow and would freeze but it literally started calling people when ever, without me even touching it, and not responding to commands. The touch screen just stopped working!...
this phone is a piece of junk , it freezes all the time and now it wont turn on , i should of kept my old phone . i know a couple other people that have the same phone and they have the same problems , so save your money , dont buy it .
The Touch Dual is a very capable, fun and solidly performing phone. The touch interface does not hold a candle to iPhone's (is not meant to) but is responsive and very user friendly once you're used to it and tweak it the way you'd like it. (Windows Mobile phones can be tweaked by a great many th...
