In Depth
When a manufacturer doesn’t give a phone a name other than its model number, well, it’s probably not going to blow anyone away. How many people are bragging about their SC-157X26?
That said, the LG GU295 is a fine entry GSM slider that boasts the brushed steel exterior that LG made famous by the VX-8700. Features include a basic camera with video record, GPS, Stereo Bluetooth and memory expandability via microSDHC and Push-to-Talk. That last feature alone can appeal to contractors and sales teams who need to connect often and quickly.
Closed, the GU295 boasts a 2 inch display offering 262 x 144 pixel resolution, along with a familiar navigation array flanked by “Send” and “End” keys. Slide it open to reveal a sturdy alpha-numeric keypad that continues the attractive brushed steel look of the exterior.
With a talk time of up to 6.5 hours and a standby time of up to 504 hours, the LG GU295 is a durable solution for folks whose sole concern is decent calls and reliability.
