LG Connect 4G

Critic consensus
“Hot on the heels of the LG Esteem, LG has upped the ante even further with the Connect 4G. It's still pricey, at $319, and 4G LTE on MetroPCS doesn't equate to quite the same speeds you'll see on other LTE networks, but the LG Connect 4G still has plenty to offer. In fact, with its beautiful display, comfortable design, and fast dual-core processor, it's the best contract-free smartphone available right now, and well worthy of our Editors' Choice award.”
“The phrase prepaid phone automatically conjures up images of chintzy disposable handsets with less-than-reliable service and mediocre features. However, the LG Connect 4G offers a solid design with fairly good 4G LTE speeds and good overall performance. The $319 price tag is a bit steep, but the inexpensive plans more than make up for the cost of admission. While we wish its battery lasted longer, the LG Connect 4G is a good deal for those looking to go the no-contract route.”
“With its dual-core CPU and 4G network, the LG Connect 4G is a zippy phone from MetroPCS. Despite some underwhelming pixel rendering, its display is vibrant and impressive. Music lovers will undoubtedly dig the Rhaspody Music tie in and superb audio playback with Dolby Mobile. Although I can definitely live without all the bloatware, the device is solid, and it's no wonder that this handset is the carrier's flagship phone for now.”
“The LG Connect 4G is a mid-range smartphone with mid-range specs to match. It does well in some areas, but falls on its face in others. Its saving grace may just be its price, however, as MetroPCS is offering it for $319 after rebate. That may sound steep, but MetroPCS does not require a contract with any of its rate plans or phone purchases, so you are essentially buying the phone outright. Speaking of plans, MetroPCS offers an unlimited plan with endless talk, text, and web services, plus unlimited streaming from Rhapsody for a mere $60 per month. Try to match that with a national carrier and you will come up empty handed. So, for the value conscious shopper, the Connect 4G might just be a suitable option. It is certainly better than the other smartphones in MetroPCS's lineup, even if it doesn't excel at everything it attempts.”

In Depth
The 1.2GHz dual-core chip-equipped LG Connect 4G with Android 2.3 Gingerbread is has been quite an impressive 4G-enabled handset. It launched with a price north of $300 but despite this, it got high marks from many reviewers thanks to excellent performance benchmarking results.
Part of what makes the Connect 4G special is the fact that it works with CDMA networks, EV-DO Rev. A, and 1700MHz LTE. It also has 1GB of on-device RAM, 4GB internal storage, a 4-inch 480×840 touchscreen display, 5MP camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, microUSB connectivity and microSD card support.
