“The LG Rumour 2 was recently released by Bell and Solo and is a nice upgrade to the original model. There are a key couple features that make this stand out. If you are in the market for a texting device this is one you should consider as it’s currently priced right and incredibly simple to use. The Rumour 2 feels solid in the hand as it only weighs 117 grams with overall dimension of 4.41 x 2.05 x 0.70 inches. The main difference with this device is that it’s much more curved in style, the directional pad is now square and this has a slide-out 4-row QWERTY keyboard with designated emoticon key and dedicated directional left, right, up and down keys now added. The keyboard is nicely spaced out and the keys feel great too, somewhat raised on the keyboard and also raised on the front of the device. The dedicated keys make this a breeze to text/IM with.”
“The LG Rumor2 is a nice compact messaging phone, with both an easy to use numeric keypad and a comfortable QWERTY keyboard. The dedicated number row and smiley button on the slide-out keyboard are definitely appreciated, and the email support - both for web-based and corporate Outlook Web Access, is well implemented and easy to setup. Unfortunately, the attempts at multimedia support are laughable at best, and the web browser is incredibly limited. The 1.3 megapixel camera offers a few fun features, but the inability to record video is an annoying oversight. Still, the Rumor2 is built well, with a solid slide mechanism and sturdy materials. We at MobileBurn.com give this messaging cell phone a 'Recommended' rating.”

What people say
I've had the LG Rumor 2 for several years now. It's a basic phone, the camera is functional but nothing breath-taking at 1.3 MP. The real plus side is you can store quite a few pictures if the phone also has an SD card inserted (obviously). The phone is awesome for texting: it stores messages as ...
This review is bogus from 2010 since the phone still stands up 2 years later as cool and useful. But hey If you're addicted to the cult of the new for stuff that isn't necessarily useful (is a game useful, or constant facebooklng or tweeting?) then move along folks, there's gold in them dar hills...
i had the LG rumor 2 for about 7 months and loved it it works very well and i had only one problem with it where the screen shut off on me but it fixed itself for a new phone user or a simple texter this is a very good phone also for the younger ppl i quite liked it
In Depth
When the original LG Rumor hit the market back in 2007, it was well received as a spacious and easy-to-use messaging phone. The design and build materials caught a lot of press, and appropriately so, as it was a solid slider geared toward a youthful market focused on text and messaging.
That said, the LG Rumor 2 disappoints in its sheer lack of overall improvements. Yes, it now offers some access to Outlook and Lotus notes, but hey, it’s 2010 and consumers want to see something new, cool and useful.
In lieu of innovation and overhaul, the LG Rumor 2 offers everything that made it great… three years ago. They have added an improved display (240 x 320 pixel resolution), and some small customization tweaks, but overall, this phone is much like it’s ground-breaking predecessor, only it’s a few years later.
For those who aren’t familiar with the LG Rumor 2, it is an attractive phone with a candybar look until you discover the spacious slide-out full QWERTY keypad, which allows for easy and fun texting in any context.
Closed, the Rumor 2 can perform numerous functions quickly, aided by its alpha-numeric keypad, familiar navigation array and 2 inch display. The Rumor 2 also comes with a 1.3MP camera, which is no longer grabbing any headlines, frankly, but does offer digital zoom, night mode and other meaningful camera features.
The Rumor 2 has GPS, Bluetooth 2.1 expandable microSD memory, a 2.5mm headphone jack and a robust suite of entry level features that can be useful (Alarm, calendar, to-do list, etc.).
With an impressive talk time of 5.5 hours and 168 hours of standby time, the LG Rumor is not a phone to pass over by any means. We just wish they had made more dramatic changes rather than a quick refresh.
