Samsung Galaxy S24+

Design

The Samsung Galaxy S24+ maintains a sleek and robust design. Samsung uses Armor Aluminum for the frame and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for the front and back, ensuring durability and resistance to scratches and drops. The flat edges feel more modern and give you a more comfortable grip.

Reviewers note the flattened side frames bring the phone closer to an iPhone feel. PCMag says, ‘I found the S24+ easier to grip and carry than the Ultra, in part due to its more comfortable rounded corners.’

The rear camera layout is minimalistic, with no unsightly camera bump, while the matte finish on the back resists fingerprints, ensuring the phone always looks clean.

Display(s)

The Galaxy S24+ boasts a stunning 6.7-inch AMOLED screen that’s bright and easy-to-read, even under direct sunlight. This can make a big difference when you’re out and about and trying to quickly check your messages or snap a picture.

The screen automatically adjusts its refresh rate up to 120Hz. This dynamic change makes everything feel smoother, especially when you’re scrolling through your favorite apps or playing games. Reviewers have praised this feature, with PCMag noting it provides both “an awesome viewing experience and improved battery performance.”

You can also choose to enhance the default resolution for even sharper images and text. This dual setting underscores how the Plus model now features the same high-resolution display options as the Ultra, which is an improvement over its predecessor.

Performance

The Samsung Galaxy S24+ offers impressive speed and responsiveness thanks to its Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor (in the US) or Exynos 2400 (outside the US). Reviewers praised its capability to handle heavy tasks effortlessly, noting, ‘it juggles gaming, heavy-duty video recording, and multiple apps flawlessly.’

With 12GB of RAM, you’ll experience outstanding multitasking performance. Gaming enthusiasts will appreciate the improved heat dissipation from the larger vapor chamber and ray tracing support.

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy S24+ ensures a smooth, efficient user experience in various demanding situations.

Cameras

The camera system on this phone includes a 50MP main sensor that ensures great detail and color accuracy in all lighting conditions. Reviewers found it especially impressive for day-to-day photography.

The 12MP ultra-wide lens and 10MP telephoto lens provide excellent options for capturing varied perspectives. Samsung’s image processing keeps photos vibrant and reduces noise, a feature experts appreciated.

New AI features enhance photo editing, such as Generative Edit and Ultra HDR, ensuring your images look their best even before sharing. The front-facing camera delivers sharp selfies, making it a solid choice for social media enthusiasts.

While not boasting the extreme zoom capabilities of some competitors, the camera array on this device is versatile and highly capable, providing above-average performance for most users.

Battery

The battery in the Samsung Galaxy S24+ supports long daily use, meaning you can engage in multiple activities without constantly checking your battery percentage. According to PCMag, the S24+ managed 14 hours and 10 minutes in their battery rundown test, a strong performance for heavy users.

The charging options are equally satisfying. You can reach 100% in 60 minutes with a 45W charger, as noted by TechRadar. This allows you to spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time enjoying your device.

Additionally, its wireless charging capability of up to 15W ensures convenience if you prefer cable-free power. The phone also supports reverse wireless charging, which is handy for topping up accessories like earbuds on the go.

Audio

The Samsung Galaxy S24+ nails audio quality for both calling and entertainment. Clear calls come through thanks to its strong microphones and effective noise reduction. Whether you’re in a quiet room or a bustling coffee shop, you’ll be heard without issue.

The dual speakers enhance video and gaming sessions, making them more immersive. As experts note, ‘The speakers distort a little at high volume settings and mostly produce clean sound, but a pair of Bluetooth headphones will almost certainly sound better.’ You can watch movies, play games, or listen to music with rich, detailed audio.

Audiophiles and everyday users alike will appreciate the reliable and dynamic sound capabilities of this phone.

The Bottom Line

This device offers a bright, smooth display and runs efficiently thanks to its latest hardware. It has a good camera setup for everyday photos but may struggle slightly in low light. Durable design and long-term software support make it a reliable choice.

Some useful AI features are included, though not all are groundbreaking. Overall, it’s a dependable choice for most users.

If you’re looking for impressive battery life and robust performance without needing the additional features of pricier models, this one’s worth considering.
