“The T2 Ultra reports to the Z Ultra in Sony's Xperia lineup - and is getting ready to take on a number of midrange phablets the competition has had for a while now. It will certainly try to position itself as a more affordable option of the Xperia Z Ultra but, at least at this point, the difference in pricing between the two doesn't quite reflect the difference in the level of equipment. The Xperia T2 Ultra has seen a drop in screen resolution and processing power, lost the IP certification and has a more common finish than the premium Xperia Z Ultra. What it offers in return is a more manageable size and superior imaging skills - the return of the LED flash and proper shutter key are more than welcome. The vastly improved battery life is another great plus - that was one of the the Z Ultra's most prominent shortcomings.”

“Sony did an excellent job with the Xperia T2 Ultra. Granted, it is a big handset, but you can't expect anything less from a 6” phablet, plus it's very thin and light for the screen size. We could also expect a bit more from the display's pixel density, but it's a worthy tradeoff for the phone's price and performance. When we stack the longest battery life we've ever measured, with the very good pictures and videos produced by the phablet's 13 MP camera, and the dual SIM Active functionality, we can pronounce the T2 Ultra as one of the best phablets in the midrange category. All in all, Sony has managed to create a very appealing midrange phablet with the T2 Ultra. That's a much less explored market niche, plus it spiced the offer up with the longest battery life we've ever measured on a mobile device, and a good 13 MP camera. Thus, we can wholeheartedly recommend the Xperia T2 Ultra, if you are into them 6-inchers, but looking to score on a tighter budget.”

“The T2 Ultra completely dwarfs phones like the Nexus 5 and Samsung Galaxy S5. Despite its size, however, the T2 Ultra does not feel too heavy, which is partly due to its plastic construction and 7.7 mm thin profile. Therefore, even with the size, this mid-range Xperia will not strain your hand — or hands — too much. True to its “ultra” name, the T2 Ultra is indeed a big phone. Its 6-inch display comes at 720p resolution, however, pixel density junkies are not likely to be satisfied here. If you look close enough, you might find jagged edges, especially with text. Still, the display itself is quite bright, with vivid color reproduction and great viewing angles. Sony does a good job with adding its own touches to the UI while still leaving the core Android experience intact. Overall, the Xperia UI is one of those skins that is not very intrusive.”

“With Sony faltering in areas that are generally considered its strong suit - camera and sound - the Xperia T2 Ultra Dual, priced at Rs. 24,990, is a difficult device to recommend. There is strong competition in this segment from the feature-rich Moto X and the Gionee Elife E7, with its great camera. But if the requirement is a 6-inch screen and nothing less, the T2 Ultra is the best bet at the moment. In short, Sony gets one thing absolutely right - the price.”

I hate it kinds is slow maybe because of just 1 GB ram but over all happy with it . use a task killer and I only keep 2 process in the background that makes it little bit more faster... Over all happy with this $250 phone so I can use straight talk and get out of contract crap...

In Depth

The T2 Ultra is Sony’s latest venture into mid-range phablet territory. With a 13 megapixel camera, quad-core processor and detailed 720p IPS display, the handset appears to offer plenty of performance for the price. Let’s see how the reviews line up.

One of the first things mentioned in nearly every review of the device is the size. Cramming a 6-inch display into a mobile requires a bit of finesse. However, Sony appears to have accomplished the feat well while still sticking with the sharp, angular Xperia design. Android Authority notes, “Even with the size, this mid-range Xperia will not strain your hand — or hands — too much.”

The phone features a plastic unibody design with a microSD port on the side. While some larger devices have had trouble pulling this off well, the T2 Ultra receives positive reviews in build quality from most reviewers. GSM Arena states, “The build quality is still top notch though, and while the slippery back may harm the handling, the matte sides offer enough grip.” The only review to make note of anything negative in the build quality was Android Authority, saying, “While the phone feels sturdy and well-made in general, the buttons feel cheap, as they wiggle and provide mushy feedback. This is especially evident with the camera button.”

While the display might not be the most powerful available, it offers a full 720p resolution and is powered by the Sony Bravia 2 engine. GSM Arena says, “The contrast and brightness of the screen are very nice, color reproduction is great too, all adding up to an excellent image quality screen.” However, both note that performance in direct sunlight might be difficult. However, the IPS display ensures that viewing angles are nice and wide for easier viewing.

The T2 Ultra runs Android 4.3 out of the box. GSM Arena was particularly impressed with the performance, noting, “The user interface is buttery smooth, there is no visible lag or long loading times.” Sony mentions release of a Android 4.4 update in the future. When this happens, performance will likely increase yet again. For a mid-range product, reviews seem to suggest it’s more than capable of everyday tasks, multitasking, video playback and gaming.

Finally, the X2 features an upgraded camera from previous Xperia models. With 13MP resolution, a plethora of shooting modes, 1080p video capture and an LED flash, its fully capable of taking respectable photos. Both Android Authority and GSM Arena praised the camera stating that pictures had “plenty of detail” and that “overall the phone’s camera does a great job and is fun to use.”

While the size might be off-putting to some, its performance and build quality place its reviews firmly in top of the competition in the mid-range Android smartphone market.

Have you tried using other SIM on that SIM slot? Maybe it's broken that's why you're not getting any network signal.
